With changes in budget the actual' budget is under 3% by $23,010.00, discussed the need for a resolution so County Treasurer knows~annot exceed property tax collected for the 1994-1995 budget. Questioned was called for and vote called for on the 3% increase motion. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie and Stelk voted yes, Quandt voted no. Motion carried. 10:30 A.M. recessed for Board of Corrections meeting and returned to regular session at 10:50 a.m. COMMUNICATIONS: 1. Information from Grand Island Hall County Civil Defense on the initial damage assessment ,report for the severe thunderstorm August 19, 1994 at 1:30 a.m. 2. Findings and Orders in the Matter of the Equalization of Real Property for tax year 1994, from State Board of Equalization and Assessment, in Hall County, the value of residential real property be increased 3 percent. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file the communications received today. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. Ellen Merrill, County Board Assisstant reported on claim submitted last week for The Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, for law library books had been reduced to $697.60 but in checking found the two books deducted needed to be paid for and explained reason and requested the claim be increased to $815.50. Motion by Leslie, seconded by Frauen to approve payment of claim to The Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, law books for $815.50 Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. 11:00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING on the Hall County 1994-1995 budget. Affidavit of publication was read in regard to increase anticipated property tax up to 5 percent for the budget. Affidavit of publication was read for Notice of Budget Hearing along with Budget Summary was presented as published in Grand Island Independent on Monday, August 15, 1994. Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported on the final budget figures. Stated the County Superintendent of Schools budget needed to be changed from clerical salary $7250. for 40 hour week to $6762.00 for 37 1/2 hour week, showing a' reduction of $488.00 County Sheriff Emmett Arnett requested salary line in his budget be reinstated as explained last week. Supervisor Leslie, chairman of Crimial Justice Committee presented and read the following committee recommendation: The Criminal Justice Committee recommends the Hall County Board of Supervisors decrease the Deputy Salary line item in the Keno Budget by $25,000; increase the Inter-Fund Transfers (Tax Relief) line item in the Keno Budget by $25,000; increase the Deputies' Salaries ,line item in the Sheriff's Department's Budget by $20,000; increase the Clerical Salaries line item in the Sheriff's Department's Budget by $5,000; and increase the Transfers--Inter-fund (Keno) line ite in the Revenue Summary by $25,000. ~-~ .
