Budget requests now shows under <br />the 3% increase so will not need to vote for the additional 2% increase. <br />With changes in budget the actual' budget is under 3% by $23,010.00, discussed <br />the need for a resolution so County Treasurer knows~annot exceed property tax <br />collected for the 1994-1995 budget. <br />Questioned was called for and vote called for on the 3% increase motion. <br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie and Stelk voted yes, Quandt voted <br />no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />10:30 A.M. recessed for Board of Corrections meeting and returned to regular <br />session at 10:50 a.m. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />1. Information from Grand Island Hall County Civil Defense on the initial <br />damage assessment ,report for the severe thunderstorm August 19, 1994 at <br />1:30 a.m. <br /> <br />2. Invitation to annual Foster Parent Recognition event,September 22, 1994 <br />at 6:30 p.m. at Mid-Plains Center for Professional Services, 914 Baumann <br />Street, Grand Island. <br /> <br />3. Copy of Hall County Handi Bus audit report for fiscal year ended June <br />30, 1993. <br /> <br />4. Findings and Orders in the Matter of the Equalization of Real Property for <br />tax year 1994, from State Board of Equalization and Assessment, in Hall <br />County, the value of residential real property be increased 3 percent. <br /> <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file the communications <br />received today. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and <br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assisstant reported on claim submitted last week <br />for The Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, for law library books had been reduced <br />to $697.60 but in checking found the two books deducted needed to be paid for <br />and explained reason and requested the claim be increased to $815.50. <br />Motion by Leslie, seconded by Frauen to approve payment of claim to The <br />Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, law books for $815.50 Abernethy, Frauen, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />11:00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING on the Hall County 1994-1995 budget. <br />Affidavit of publication was read in regard to increase anticipated <br />property tax up to 5 percent for the budget. <br />Affidavit of publication was read for Notice of Budget Hearing along with <br />Budget Summary was presented as published in Grand Island Independent on <br />Monday, August 15, 1994. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported on the final budget figures. <br />Stated the County Superintendent of Schools budget needed to be changed from <br />clerical salary $7250. for 40 hour week to $6762.00 for 37 1/2 hour week, <br />showing a' reduction of $488.00 <br />County Sheriff Emmett Arnett requested salary line in his budget be <br />reinstated as explained last week. <br />Supervisor Leslie, chairman of Crimial Justice Committee presented and <br />read the following committee recommendation: <br /> <br />The Criminal Justice Committee recommends the Hall County Board <br />of Supervisors decrease the Deputy Salary line item in the Keno <br />Budget by $25,000; increase the Inter-Fund Transfers (Tax Relief) <br />line item in the Keno Budget by $25,000; increase the Deputies' <br />Salaries ,line item in the Sheriff's Department's Budget by <br />$20,000; increase the Clerical Salaries line item in the <br />Sheriff's Department's Budget by $5,000; and increase the <br />Transfers--Inter-fund (Keno) line ite in the Revenue Summary by <br />$25,000. <br /> <br /> <br />~-~ . <br />Committee Me er Ire Abernethy <br /> <br />~~. . ~.~~\.V... , <br />Committee Member ammie Stelk <br />
