<br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING, MAY 17, 1994

<br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session
<br />and by published call with Chairman Richard Hartman presiding.
<br />
<br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Frauen, Richard Hartman,
<br />Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. None were
<br />absent.
<br />
<br />Invocation was given by Rev. Michael Cole, First Baptist Church.
<br />Pledge of Allegiance was given.
<br />
<br />Minutes of May 10th meeting were accepted as received on motion by Stelk,
<br />seconded by Quandt. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt
<br />and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Deputy County Attorney Jerom Janulewicz was present.
<br />
<br />Sandi Yoder, Stuhr Museum and ~heresaKuzuelka, Visitor Promotion Bureau were
<br />present. They reported there would be a press conference later this morning
<br />to announce some exciting news. Ma~y Ethel Emmanuel, ... filIn- officer for the
<br />Nebraska State Film Office, stated the movie "My Antonia" is to be
<br />filmed in Hall County at Stuhr Museum this summer.
<br />L~JacJ9 Roe, Production Manager for the movie "My Antonia" stated filming
<br />to begin at Stuhr Museum on June 20th for 4 weeks(20 days) Stars are to be
<br />Jason Robards and Eva Marie Saint.
<br />
<br />Deputy Attorney Janulewicz spoke in regard to the contract with Crisis Center
<br />and need to publish notice to request release of funds.
<br />Lauri Shultis, Crisis Center was present.
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Abernethy to approve and authorize chairman to
<br />sign the agreement with Crisis Center and authorize publishing of the notice.
<br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none
<br />voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Quandt to recess for Executive Session to
<br />discuss negotiations on Brester vs Board of Equalization and English vs
<br />Board of Equalization court cases. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Executive Session at 9:31 a.m. and returned to regular session at 9:40 a.m.
<br />on motion by Landis, seconded by Stelk. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Stelk to authorize Deputy Attorney to settle
<br />the two court cases as recommended in executive Session. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />
<br />Commenced audit of monthly claims.
<br />
<br />Discussion on claim from David Kusek, $2825.00. Motion by Quandt, seconded
<br />by Landis to refer David Kusek claim to County Attorney's office. Abernethy,
<br />Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Discussed claims from Nebraska Furniture Mart $3000.00; Dawn Stobbe and
<br />Dr Vanderfecht(both needed signatures on claims) Central Nebraska Cardiology
<br />Consultants and St. Francis Medical Center.
<br />
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Landis to hold claims for clarification and
<br />reply from insurance company for Central Nebraska Cardiolgy Consultants and
<br />St. Francis Medical Center. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted Yes, Leslie voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Hartman brought for discussion the contract with Villages for law enforcement.

<br />Chairman recessed meeting at 11:46 a.m. for lunch and to return to regular
<br />session at 1:00 p.m.
