(1) Letter <br />to Governor Nelson in regard to Mid Nebraska Retardation funding ready for <br />signatures (2) Copy of letter from Bill Bean, Weed Superintendent from Stetson <br />Products (3) Board members need to make tour to courthouse with Building & <br />_' Grounds Superintendent to view the tuckpointing project (4) copy of agenda <br />for Wednesday evening worksession <br /> <br />Barbara Harwick, Executive Director Cross Road Center, Hastings, Nebraska <br />spoke in regard to financial help for Hall County residents being sent to <br />their Center. In February 8 adults and 5 children for total of 306 days <br />shelter. Harwick stated were being referred to them by Grand Island Social <br />Services. <br />Sam Zeleski, Attorney with Legal Aid was present and spoke briefly. <br />Board Members told Harwick she should be sending bill to Social Service <br />for consideration of payment. <br />Supervisor Quandt was excused from meeting to go with them to Social <br />Service Office to visit with Social Service Director about the referrals. <br /> <br />Brent Lindner, Nebraska Mil-Nic Inc/Mid Town Holiday Inn requested Special <br />Liquor License Permit to serve at Stuhr Museum June 21, 1994 from 6~30 p.m. <br />to 7:30 p.m. for Nebraska Bankers Association meeting. <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie to approve the request presented. <br />Hartman, Landis and Leslie voted yes, Abernethy and Stelk voted no, with <br />Frauen and Quandt absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />Letter from Department of Roads in regard to detour for Project STPD-30-4(135) <br />Wood River - Grand Island. (Referred copy of letter to Public Works Director) <br /> <br />Sonna Holmes and Susan Stuckert from Social Service Office, 2 representatives <br />from Cross Road Center, Hastings and Sam Zeleski, Attorney were presented. <br />Supervisor Quandt explained visit to Social Service Office and Sonna Holmes <br />and Susan Stuckert answered questions from board members. <br /> <br />Deputy County Attorney Janulewicz called in regard to Geo Tech testing at <br />Weed Control Office building. Reported test $50.00 and strength test $9.00 <br />for each cylinder(requiring two cylinders) <br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Landis to allow Weed Superintendent <br />$68.00 to pay Geo Tech for tests at weed control building and to be paid <br />from Weed fund budget. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and <br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with Frauen absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Recessed at 10:30 a.m. for Board of Corrections meeting and returned to <br />regular session at 10:54 a.m. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Stelk attended the Central District County Officials meeting. <br /> <br />Landis reported update on ReUse Committee and she also attended the Central <br />District County Officials meeting. <br /> <br />Leslie reported on rao Interchange meeting he attended. <br /> <br />Quandt also attended the Interchange meeting and stated the Public and News <br />media should be invited to attend these meeting. <br /> <br />Abernethy attended Head Start meeting, Central District meeting, Audit <br />Committee meeting and had received Keno audit report from the auditors. <br /> <br />Hartman reported on Mid Plains Center update, attended Health Department <br />meeting and Mid Nebraska Retardation meeting is tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Abernethy encouraged board members to visit Stuhr Museum to view the wildlife <br />and crane displays. <br /> <br />Landis reported Hall County is to Host the Central District County Officials <br />meeting in September, she is the President for the next year. She asked about <br />sending out questionaire to other counties to line up program for Supervisors <br />and Commissioners. <br /> <br />Quandt stated he was excused from meeting to go to Social Service office and <br />he was gone about 20 minutes and board discussed and voted on special liquor <br />permit to be used at Stuhr Museum. He objected and would have voted no and <br />would not have passed at this time. <br /> <br />Emmett Arnett, County Sheriff spoke to board members in regard to charges <br />for Sheriff's fees which was on agenda for Public Defender to discuss. He <br />quoted state statute 33~117 on Sheriff fees, says Sheriff shall charge the <br />fees. <br />
