<br />Discussion on claim with no receipts attached, witness fee claims and County
<br />Court claim for judge's retirement.

<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Landis to send letter to County Court-to use
<br />standard claim forms provided by County Clerk's office. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />Supervisor Stelk asked to delay sending letter for one week, until she can
<br />visit with Alice Mahood about the claims being submitted. Board members
<br />agreed to wait until next week.
<br />
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy to approve payment of claims as
<br />audited except the expense claims held for receipts to be attached, and
<br />County Court claim $140.00 held for clarification. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.

<br />Public Works Committee Chairman stated Public Works Director had requested
<br />purchase of street sweeper for county use for $6500.00 from Federal Surplus.
<br />Board members decided not to approve purchase of street sweeper.
<br />
<br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant gave weekly update report: (1) the
<br />Corrections Department computer software is on display if board members
<br />wish to view before purchasing for $75,000.00 (2) requested permission to
<br />attend the NIRMA Workshop in Kearney, Nebraska on February 9th(persmission
<br />granted) (3) NACO Legislative Day is to be held on March 3, 1994 if any
<br />board members wish to attend, need to make reservations. (several board
<br />members expressed interest in attending)

<br />COMMUNICATIONS:
<br />
<br />1. Invitation from Grand Island Industrial Foundation to take a tour of the
<br />Hastings Industrial Park West on Saturday January 22, 1994, leaving Grand
<br />Island at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 11:00 a.m.
<br />
<br />2. Midland Area Agency on Aging requesting notification of the representa-
<br />tives apP9inted to serve on their Board of Directors for 1994.

<br />3. Notice from NACO in regard to NIRMA membership Information Day Workshop
<br />Wednesday, February 9, 1994 at Kearney Ramada Inn, starting at 8:30 a.m.

<br />4. Resident Initiatives Office, thanking for support for the Youthbuild
<br />Program grant.
<br />
<br />5. Letter from Attention Center for Youth, Lancaster County, stating they
<br />are unable to accept youth from other counties and will not be sending
<br />out contracts for renewal.

<br />6. Invitation to attend 47th Annual Meeting of Heartland United Way meeting
<br />Tuesday, February 1, 1994 at 6:30 p.m. at Midtown Holiday Inn, Grand Island

<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file the communications
<br />received today. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Stelk reported on the Law Library Committee meeting': and a~lso t:he HouseholC!.~
<br />Hazardous Waste Committee meeting.
<br />
<br />Landis reported on Reuse Committee meeting, will have another meeting on
<br />Thursday, ',January 20th at 1: 00 p.m.
<br />
<br />Leslie reported he had received figures from County Departments on maint-
<br />enance agreement costs for offices and will have full report at later date.
<br />He attended the Stuhr Museum meeting Monday afternoon. MidPlains Center
<br />meeting was cancelled for Monday evening.
<br />
<br />Quandt reported he attended Senior Citizens Industries meeting, also attended
<br />the Covention &-Visitors Bureau meeting. He expressed his concerns that
<br />should take application for Hall County appointed positions when they come up
<br />for reappointment.
<br />
<br />Frauen reported he will attend Health Board meeting tomorrow night.

<br />Hartman reported on Mid-Nebraska Individual Services latest information. Next
<br />meeting will be February 9th.

<br />Discussion on County Board mileage claims. Since will be no pay raises for
<br />next four years, start submitting claims for mileage with new budget year
<br />July 1994. No mileage to attend regular meetings but for any other meetings.
