Abernethy, Hartman, Land1s, Les11e, Quandt, <br />Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />The following communications were read: <br />A letter from the City of Grand Island requesting the County <br />Board's support to the city on a grant application. A letter <br />was signed by the board members. <br /> <br />A letter form New Holland inviting the board to an award presentation <br />on October 17. A letter was signed stating they would be unable to <br />attend because of the NACO convention. <br /> <br />A letter requesting the board's support for James Anderson for <br />County Official of the Year award. <br /> <br />A letter form the Adams County Board requesti~g support for Chris <br />Lewis to the NIRMA Board of Directors. <br /> <br />A letter from Sarpy County commissioners requesting support for <br />Brian Hanson for the NIRMA Board of Directors. <br /> <br />The communications were placed on file. <br /> <br />Board Assistant Ellen Merrill will provide information for the <br />handouts for county government day to Landis. Budget information <br />for the various offices could also be included. <br /> <br />Unfinished Business - It was questioned if a procurement policy for <br />Mid-Plains was going to be established. A copy of the letter from <br />Ellen Totzke County Attorney could be sent to Mid-Plains. <br /> <br />Board Members Reports - <br /> <br />Quandt - He attended the court house construction meeting and <br />suggested that the board members tour the court house and look at <br />the remodeling. He also discussed the South Locust Interchange and <br />the Environmental Impact Study. <br /> <br />Rosenkotter - She attended the Economic Development meeting the Weed <br />Control meeting and is planning to attend the Air Transportation <br />meeting today. <br /> <br />Leslie - He attended the Criminal Justice meeting with the Sheriff <br />and they had received a letter from Wood River law enforcement. He <br />reported that the Wood River enforcement would not change, but the <br />Sh~riff's Department would help them out. They will have another <br />meeting on October 16. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the Criminal Justice meeting, the Reuse meeting <br />and there is a Free Trade Zone meeting on Thursday, October 12. <br /> <br />Stelk - She attended the Criminal Justice meetina. <br />
