<br />The following communications were read:
<br />A letter from the Nebraska Department of Roads addressed to
<br />Izola Sargent with Senior Citizens Industries in regard to
<br />the drug and alcohol testing program to be in place by
<br />January 1, 1996.
<br />
<br />A letter from Linda Zimmerman, Clerk of the District Court
<br />stating the number of mental health hearings over the last two
<br />years and the number of cases through September 30, 1995.
<br />Quandt made a motion and Rosenkotter seconded to accept the
<br />communications and place on file. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted,yes and none voted no.
<br />
<br />Board Assistant Ellen Mer~ill requested a date and time for a Criminal
<br />Justice meeting in 'reference to a request from Wood River for additional
<br />support from the Hall Cc;>unty Sheriff's Department. It will be held
<br />Friday October 6, at 9:30 A.M. She presented a letter to Senator Dan
<br />Fisher the board requested to hold off sending this letter.
<br />
<br />Board Members Reports -
<br />Quandt - No report. He requested to have a presentation on the
<br />"stop stick" be put on the October 10 agenda.
<br />Rosenkotter - She attended the Elected and Appointed Officials
<br />meeting and the Youth Violence meeting at City Hall.
<br />Stelk - She attended the Elected and Appointed officials meeting
<br />and reported that the Library Board meeting was cancelled.
<br />Landis - She attended the Elected and Appointed officials meeting
<br />and reported she is doing a study on the workman's comp
<br />policy followed by the county. She had a Reuse meeting
<br />and a Foreign Trade Zone meeting is to be held October 3.
<br />Leslie - He attended the Convention and Visitors Bureau meeting and
<br />reported they are a very active group. He also attended
<br />the Reuse Committee meeting and the Elected and Appointed
<br />Officials meeting.
<br />
<br />Abernethy - She attended the Juvenile Violence meeting and
<br />attended the disastor training meeting in Washington.
<br />She will give a report on the meeting October 10.
<br />
<br />Unfinished Business'-
<br />
<br />Rosenkotter questioned if Fant Broadcasting will be placing the
<br />tower by Doniphan. The company has been sold and will not be
<br />doing this work. She requested that Hartman report if there will
<br />be a procurement policy for purchasing established at Mid-Plains.
