<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Rosenkotter to approve claims and authorize
<br />County Clerk to issue payments on claims as audited today. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes, Quandt voted no
<br />(due to Industrial Foundation claim for $14,500.) Hartman was absent.

<br />Recessed at 12:05 for lunch. Returned to regular session at 1:30 p.m.

<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Landis to invite Mr Brennan, Grand Island
<br />Independent to meeting next week. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no, Rosenkotter abstained and Hartman was
<br />absent. Motion carried.

<br />Chairman Abernethy asked if anyone wished to volunteer! to serve on the
<br />Indigent Defense Committee Tammie had resigned from. Discussion followed
<br />as to the two committtee set up for review of court appointed counsel.
<br />Chairman determined toh~Y~_n:t:he committee of Landis, Leslie and Hartman
<br />to continue to review Iwi th the; second and third tier counsels.

<br />Marvin Webb, Archi teet-;! pre sen ted change order on the. Courthouse pro j ect.
<br />Jay Huber, Paulsen Development Construction, contractor on the project was
<br />present. Webb explained the reason for change in regard to the north entry
<br />door at courthouse and need to replace concrete slab immediately in front
<br />of the door. Three items of change "was reviewed with addition of $1418.00
<br />for structural stoop at exterior door and deduct $300.00 for one specified
<br />emergency call station located at basement level elevator lobby, for net
<br />addition of $1118.00 on change order.
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Leslie to accept change order il as pre-
<br />sented for addition of $1118.00 and authorize chairman to sign change order.
<br />Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes, Quandt voted no,
<br />with Hartman absent. Motion carried.

<br />Discussion on County Government Day. Abernethy reported on meeting she had
<br />attended and teacher's had requested County Board Members to conduct the
<br />tour for students. Veteran's ServiQe Office Don Shuda was attending schooling
<br />today, so board members ask that:~~come to next week's meeting to discuss.

<br />COMMUNICATIONS:

<br />1. John A Wagoner, Attorney in regard to plans for photographing of the
<br />proceedings of County Board meetings.
<br />
<br />2. Regional Planning Commission meeting October 4, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. at
<br />Council Chamber in Grand Island's City Hall. They will consider final plats
<br />for Callahan Subdivision, Johnson Acres Subdivision and Prairie View Second
<br />Subdivision.
<br />
<br />3. Copy of Summons filed in Lancaster County District Court, Lincoln, Nebraska
<br />in regard to second amended petition for 91 counties in regard to Retire-
<br />ment Systems for Nebraska Counties. .

<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Rosenkotter to refer to County Attorney's office
<br />for opinion. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted
<br />yes, none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried.

<br />County Clerk presented petition with 10 signatures to close township road
<br />located between NEl/4 Section 3 and NWl/4 of Section 2, Township 9, north
<br />range 10 west in Hall County for approximately 1/2 mile.
<br />Motion by Rosenkotter, seconded by Quandt to refer to Public Works Director
<br />and Committee for recommendation. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosen-
<br />kotter and Stelk voted yes, none voted no with Hartman absent. Motion carried.

<br />County Assessor's office representative Kathy Schard presented tax correction
<br />notices il034 to il047.
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Leslie to accept tax correction notices
<br />il034 to il047 and authorize chairman to initial. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with Hartman absent.
