They set <br />salaries at increase of flat 4% and no step increases. <br /> <br />_Abernetliy]reported on meeting at Community College, her meeting she attended <br />in Washington DC with Congressman Bill Barrett and the Emergency Management <br />meeting in Maryland she attended with Communication Director Howard Maxon and <br />Grand Island Mayor. <br /> <br />Reported on <br /> <br />*' <br /> <br />Hartman spoke on the letter from Mid Plains Center received couple weeks ago <br />on the committee. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Landis to support the Mid Plains Center <br />letter to have Millard Vlach and Richard Hartman appointed to serve on the <br />committee. Discussion followed. Abernethy gave report on the report she <br />gave at the Mid Plains meeting. She felt vote should be delayed until next <br />week when Rosenkotter would be present, since the committee appointed was <br />her suggestion. Question was called for and on vote, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, Abernethy voted no, with Rosenkotter <br />absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Hartman gave report on Mid Plains Center Board meeting, He also attended <br />the Weed Control Authority meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Quandt to cancell the County Board Meeting <br />for October 17th, due to County Officials Convention in Omaha. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with <br />Rosenkotter absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Supervisor Leslie left meeting at 4:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Quandt and Hartman reported on Parks Committee meeting and Parks Director <br />Kaufman had 2 proposals to purchase new mower. Ranged from $6742. to <br />$5041.75 for mower with trade in. Discussion followed as to where money <br />was budgeted for new mower. Determined was Equipment Acquistion and should <br />have full board approval before purchasing. Landis felt should look at new <br />mower that Toner's has to offer. Hartman stated would have to advertise and <br />get new bids on mower. <br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Hartman to allocate $5041.75 out of Equip- <br />ment acquisition budget to' purchase new grasshopper mower for Parks. Aber- <br />nethy, Landis and Quandt voted no, Hartman & Stelk voted yes, with Leslie <br />and Rosenkotter absent. Motion failed to carryon 2 yes, 3 no vote. <br /> <br /> <br />4:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Next meeting will be Tuesday <br /> <br />
