<br />(I) Nebraska Liquor Control Commission, in regard to AIda Lounge, Inc, dba
<br />"AIda Lounge" AIda Nebraska liquor license request for re-hearing.

<br />(2) Regional Planning Commission meeting September 6, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. and
<br />final plats for Schaaf's Third Subdivision and Murdock Subdivision will

<br />(3) State Civil Defense Agency ICS/EOC Interface Course to be held November
<br />4 & 5, 1995 in Grand Island.

<br />Lincoln, Nebraska in regard to Grand Island Kiwanis Club candy & gum
<br />vending machines in county buildings.

<br />Abernethy read letter she had received from Joseph Hewgley, Lincoln County
<br />Board of Commiss.ioner member in regard to his nomination for Secretary-
<br />Treasurer at NACO Convention in Omaha in October.

<br />Abernethy read letter received from Millard Vlach, Chairman Board of Trustees
<br />Mid Plains Center in regard to study commmittee appointed.

<br />Recessed at 12:00 noon, returned to session at 1:30 P.M. with all County
<br />Board members present.

<br />Howard Maxon, Communications Director spoke in regard to Telephone Credit
<br />cards offered by State of Nebraska.

<br />Jack Niemoth, President Weed Control Authority Board spoke again in regard to
<br />salaries for 2 employees at Weed Office.
<br />
<br />Chairman Abernethy read recognition to those departments which requested the
<br />same or less funding for 1995-1996 county budgets. County Board, Register of
<br />Deeds, Supt of Schools, County Court, District Judges, Extension, Probation,
<br />Region III, Midland Area Agency on Aging, Mid Nebr Individual Services, Handi-
<br />bus, Childrens Village, Visitor Promotion, Reappraisal and Weed budgets.

<br />Letter from County Sheriff was received in regard to budget for 1995-1996
<br />fiscal year request for his department.
<br />
<br />Chart was given each member in regard to costs if all employees of county
<br />are granted 3% increase plus step. Which offices could reduce line items
<br />within budget request and which ones would need increase. Discussion
<br />followed. Quandt questioned what are we going to do on salaries, 2% or what.
<br />He stated 2% salary and 2% budget increases. Rosenkotter stated either 2%
<br />salary as budgeted or grant additional money to meet 3 %, would either have
<br />to roll back those at 3% to 2 % or move those at 2% up to 3%. Hartman stated
<br />2 choices, change all back to 2% or include $77,253.40 back into budgets to
<br />bring all up to 3% and step. County Assessor and County Treasurer were
<br />present during this discussion. County Assessor made statements in regard
<br />to her budget request. Abernethy stated would heed to cut $77,253.40
<br />from miscellaneous general-miscellaneous line and replace in each department
<br />budget as requested. Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant stated was error
<br />in figuring salary for Public Defender Officer should be $43,500. instead of
<br />$42,500. and would need to make that correction.
