<br />A letter from the city of Grand Island was received requesting the
<br />boards approval of the appointment of Marilyn Lueth to serve as the
<br />City's Board of Health Liaison. Hartman made a motion and Rosenkotter
<br />seconded to approve the appointment. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.
<br />
<br />The contract and bond covering the work awarded to Perrett Construction,
<br />LTD. of Valentine, Nebraska, on Project No. BRO-7040(15) was received.
<br />Rosenkotter made a motion and Stelk seconded to authorized the chair
<br />to sign the contract and bond on Project NO. BRO-7040(15). Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes
<br />and none voted no.
<br />
<br />Stelk reported on the claim number 94070286 for Donald Walters that
<br />was held for clarification. Judge Luther was contacted and she
<br />clarified the hours of work co~pleted. Stelk made,a motion and Quandt
<br />seconded to approve claim 94070286 for Donald Walters in the amount
<br />of $3,212.30. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter
<br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.

<br />Quandt made a motion and Leslie seconded to go into a Board of
<br />Equalization. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter
<br />and Stelk voted yes and none voted no.

<br />An exemption application from St. .Stephens Episcopal Protestant Church,
<br />,422 West Second Street, Grand Island was received and read, requesting
<br />an exemption for E1/2 Lot 7, Lot 8 ~lock 62 Original Town. ' Hartman
<br />made a motion and Leslie seconded to approve the exemption application
<br />All voted yes. '

<br />Stelk made a motion and Quandt seconded to go out of Board of
<br />Equalization. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt,
<br />Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.

<br />Jan Pelland, Hall County Assessor, presented information to
<br />the board on a news_Iele~e she received from the Department of
<br />j Revenue. The State\Board~of Equalization will hear requests from
<br />any county wishing to receive adjustments to levels of values on
<br />August 11, at 9:00 A.M. Hall County will need to send a representa-
<br />tive to this meeting. Margaret Landis, Gary Quandt and Richard
<br />Hartman stated that they will be able to attend. They will also
<br />contact Jerry Janulewicz to see if he can attend. It was stated
<br />the other counties are receptive to the fact that Hall County has
<br />filed this petition. The State Board of Equalization has until
<br />August 15 to make any changes.
<br />
<br />Discussion was held on adding the line items for health insurance,
<br />social security and withholdings to the individual departments
<br />budgets. If this is done it would show a complete picture of the
<br />budgets. Landis used Buffalo County as an example. Several of the
<br />officials stated that this was the logical time to incorporate this
<br />into the individual budgets but to make it clear to the public that
<br />this is why their budgets increased. It was suggested that the board
<br />receive a separate report sh~wing these costs for each department.
<br />The possibility of changing this procedure for next year will be
<br />checked on.

<br />Joel Dalton, Corrections Director, presented the grant application
<br />for the at risk HIV children. Discussion was held on the administra-
<br />tion and how the selection will be made. Leslie made a motion and
<br />Stelk seconded to authorize the chair to sign the' grant application
<br />Abernethy, Leslie, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes and Hartman, Landis,
<br />and Quandt voted no.
<br />
<br />Bill Bean from the Weed Control Authority presented two bids to the
<br />board requesting the purchase of two tank for the spraying equipment.
<br />The stainless steel tanks are leaking and they are difficult to repair.
<br />Landis made a motion and Hartman seconded to authorize the purchase
<br />of two tanks from the equipment acquisition line from Kelly Supply
<br />Company. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and
<br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.

<br />The sub-groUp\~~2Elica,t.:i_~ for Blue Cross Blue Shield that was received
<br />by the county clerkis office was presented to the board. According
<br />to information from Ken Dustin, Hall County will continue to be billed
<br />the higher custom flex rate until the sub-group application is signed.
