<br />~5F-~30 <br /> <br />-! <br /># <br /> <br />.~; <br />~ <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JULY~~, 1995c <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met July 123.-' at 9: 00 A.M. <br />froIn adjourned session andcbypublished call wltnChairman Irene <br />Abernethy presiding. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard' Hartman, Margaret. <br />Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt, Judy Rosenkotter and Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Rev. J. L. Jones from Immanuel Baptist Church. <br /> <br />The ~iedg~ of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 11 meeting were received and corrected. <br />Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to accept and place on file. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />It was requested that the clerk mail copies of the Board.of.Corrections <br />minutes to the board members the Friday before the next monthly meeting. <br /> <br />I <br />Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz request~_tha~~ha~Bsolution <br />for Nebraska Cellular be put on the August 1 meeting for the boards <br />approval. <br /> <br />Jerry Janulewicz distributed to the board members a draft of the <br />petition that is to be submitted to the State Board of Equalization_ <br />seeking to lower Hall County's range to 89%. Hartman made a motion <br />and Landis seconded to submit the petition to the State Board of <br />Equalization to lower Hall County's range on residential to 89% and <br />agricultural to 71%. Rosenkotter stated that she attended the City <br />Council meeting and they are going to write a letter to the State <br />Board of Equalization in suport of Hall County~ petition. If the <br />State Board of Equalization does not lower the range then Hall County <br />can appeal to the State Supreme Court. Discussion was held. Th<=_ ... <br />vote on the motion to send the petition was called for. Aberne~hy~ <br />Hartman, Landis, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and-Leslie <br />voted no. <br /> <br />Joel Dalton, Corrections Director, had requested permission to write <br />a grant for__~. e~J1lEfor.the at. risk children. Dalton stated that in <br />5 days he\r~ce~ye& letters from other counties, various agencies <br />and the'community -in support of this program. He presented copies of <br />the grant to the board members. This grant would pay for 50 children. <br />A camp board would need to be set up;it~would consist of a member <br />~J:'.~IlLe.i!Gl1 cooperating agency. The camp board would set up the <br />:curricu~9mfor the camp. This could be held June 2 to 8, 1996, at the <br />1training center in Aurora. This grant needs to be submitted by <br />August 1. This is to be reviewed by Jerry Janulewicz and placed on <br />the agenda August 1. <br /> <br />Tom Drudik from the extension office questioned.the-bbard on the <br />budgets-.cc.The board will be working on them this week. Drudik <br />mentioned some of the activities that have been held at College <br />Park. He stated that kids college had 381 students enrolled. The <br />state 4H horse show was held last week. They have a person working <br />on the grants that are available. <br /> <br />Ray Rabe from the Health Department spoke to the board on the renewaL.. <br />of t.h~ir.liability insurance and possibilty of using the QounEy-='s. !_ <br />carrier. II. possible., .~this. .could save some money. <br /> <br />Marvin Webb, with Webb and Associate~will be at the courthouse <br />with paint samples and invitied the board to meet with him at 1:00 P.M. <br /> <br />9:50 A;.M;.Commenceauditofclaims <br /> <br />10:30 A.M. Under public participation John Wagoner spoke to the board. <br />He requested that the county board check into six areas as a means <br />of controlling costs. <br /> <br />1. County employees and officials should file with the board <br />when and where they will be having travel expenses and if the <br />expenses can be reimbursed. <br />2. The board needs to control the computer expenses. <br />
