Th1s contract will be reviewed and discussed May 16. <br /> <br />The City Council and the County Board are to have a joint meeting <br />May 23 at 7:00 P.M. concerning the City County Health Department <br />budget. Howard Maxon will meet with each board individually <br />concerning his budget. at a later date. <br /> <br />The appointment of Ms. Mary Morgan Cote to the Hall County <br />Housing Authority was discusssed. Rosenkotter made motion <br />and Stelk seconded to approve the appointment of Ms. Mary Morgan <br />Cote to the board. Abernethy, Leslie, Rosehkotter and Stelk <br />voted yes. Hartman and Quandt voted no. <br /> <br />../ <br /> <br />Abernethy read the letter from Don Shuda, Veterans Service Officer, <br />concerning the appointment for Veterans Service Committee member <br />from the Cairo American Legion Post #333. Only one name was <br />submitted for the appointment. Hartman made motion and Leslie <br />seconded to appoint Casey Caswell to be the committee member <br />for another 5 years. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Quandt made motion and Leslie seconded to go into Board of <br />Equalization. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Rosehkotter <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Marjorie Haubold County Clerk reported a total of 3,143 protests <br />were recieved by her office. 2,857 of these were residential/ <br />commercial protests. May 12 at:9:00 A.M. the Board of Equalization <br />will meet to take final action on the agricultural recommendations. <br /> <br />The letter from Jerome Niedfeldt was received. Stelk made motion <br />and Quandt seconded to send to the County Attorney and taken <br />under advisement. Abernety, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter <br />and Stlek voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />This land was classified as agricultural not residential and <br />Mr Niedfeldt stated he thought it should be residential. <br /> <br />Jan Pelland reported that there is a 50% return on the hearing <br />notices that were mailed out. <br /> <br />Stelk made motion and Leslie seconded to go out of Board of <br />Equalization. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />The letter from inmate Robert Lade was read. Hartman made motion <br />and Quandt seconded to refer this letter to Deputy County Attorney <br />Jerry Janulewicz. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />The followina communications were read: <br /> <br />Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce - A letter inviting the <br />board to a tour of the Monfort Plant. <br />Nelson Helm Regional Planning Commission - A letter informing the <br />board of a change in the fiscal year for first class cities. <br />James Exon- A reply to the boards letter concerning the Wood River/ <br />Warm Slough project. <br />
