Questions were addressed on the increase <br />,Ii of land values. This breakdown. varies and this may change when <br />the whole program is run. The dates need to be set so the <br />required notice can be mailed to the tax payer. If the dates would <br />begin on the 24th of April that would allow enough time for the <br />notices to be mailed. The initial contact would be with the referees. <br />They would meet with the people and then do on site inspections if <br />necessary. Then they would make a recommendation to the board if any <br />change needs to be made. The board would need to meet once before <br />May 1. Quandt made motion and Rosenkotter seconded to meet April <br />28 at 9:00 A.M. as a Board of Equalization. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes and none <br />voted no. These are on land only. The clerk's office will need <br />to set the time for the referee hearings. Pelland will contact <br />the clerk's office with the times that the referees will be <br />available. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /><,i <br /> <br />Leslie made motion and Hartman seconded to return to regular <br />session. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter <br />and Stelk voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Returned to regualr session at 12:30 P.M. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Irene Abernethy received a letter from Bruce prenda a program <br />analayist.~ He is conducting a survey to combine the Nebraska <br />State Patrol and the Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand <br />Island. He is requesting our suggestions.Irene will complete <br />this and return to them. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT ELLEN MERRILL <br /> <br />Ellen was instructed to send a letter in support of LB646.to <br />be signed next week. <br /> <br />BOARD REPORTS <br /> <br />Abernethy - Attended the Weed Control Board meeting. On the <br />state wide program to collet hazardous waste 26,000 <br />pounds were collected. <br /> <br />Hartman -. Reported on the certificate of deposit interest rates. <br />Doris Mason sent him a list of the certificate of <br />deposits with a total amount of $400,000.00 <br /> <br />Quandt - Donated 100 maple trees to be used at the Hall <br />County Park. <br /> <br />Stelk - Attended Midland Area on Aging. They received a letter <br />of congratulations for being selected the Nebraska BPW <br />employer of the year. They will be recognized on April 22. <br /> <br />Landis - The Reuse Committee met with Lee Esterbrook. April 11 <br />at 2:00 P.M. she will meet with a sub committee to <br />develop a scope of work. Margaret Landis, Jerry <br />Janulewicz, Andy Baird, Nelson Helm, Sandi Yoder and <br />Mr Jelinek will serve the sub committee. <br />Also attended a hearing on the 1-80 and 281 project. <br />Rosenkotter -Submitted the report of the health assessment needs <br />from Hall County. <br /> <br />Quandt - Requested a list of all tax exempt vehicles in Hall <br />County. <br /> <br /> <br />Leslie - Reported on the land purchase for the Hall County Park. <br />They are still working on the contract. He also attended <br />the Audit Committee meeting and they are discussing the <br />renewal of the contract with McDermott and Miller for <br />their services. They are requesting an increase.
