<br />- ~.:;.:::7' --'-c- <br /> <br />9SF-4 <br /> <br />i/C g HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING - JANUARY 10, 1995 <br /> <br />~ The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 A.M. from adjourned <br />session and by published call with Chairman Richard Hartman presiding. <br /> <br />~ <br />~ Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, Margaret <br />Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt, Judy Rosenkotter and Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Rev. Charles Proud, Harvest Time Baptist Church. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the minutes of January3rd meeting was made by Quandt, <br />seconded by Leslie. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosen- <br />kotter and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br /> <br />Deputy County Clerk requested nominations for 1995 County Board Chairman. <br /> <br />Leslie nominated Irene Abernethy <br />Hartman nominated Gary Quandt-- <br /> <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie that nomination cease. Deputy County <br />Clerk stated nominations had ceased and asked the wishes of the Board <br />in regards to voting, either by lights or paper ballot. Board members <br />agreed to vote by paper ballot. Ballots distributed and counted by <br />Deputy County Attorney and Deputy County Clerk. Results being Abernethy <br />five votes and Quandt two votes. Deputy County Clerk presented the <br />gavel to Irene Abernethy as the 1995 County Board Chairman. Abernethy <br />expressed her appreciation to the board members for their vote. <br /> <br />Abernethy then asked for nominations for 1995 County Board Vice Chairman. <br /> <br />Landis nominated Stelk <br />Hartman nominated Quandt <br /> <br />Motion by Leslie, seconded by Laqdis th~t nomination cease. Abernethy <br />stated nominations had ceased and asked for ballots to be passed out and <br />counted. The results being Stelk five votes and Quandt two votes. <br />Abernethy announced Stelk as the 1995 Vice Chairman of the Hall County <br />Board. Stelk elpressed her appreciation to the board members for their <br />vote. <br /> <br />Abernethy pres nted a plaque to Hartman for his service as Chairman <br />of the Board f~r 1994. <br />I <br />i <br />Deputy County ~ttorney, Jerry Janulewicz, gave his opinion to the board <br />concerning the!issue of South Locust 1-80 interchange being put to a vote <br />bf the people.i He stated that the county could not have an election to <br />continue:with-the project, but could have an election in order to spend <br />more money tha~is allowed by state statute.to aid in the South'Locust <br />project. He stated since there had been talk of a Attorney General's <br />opinion he would be glad to draft that request. Landis made motion, <br />seconded by Quandt to request a Attorney General's opinion. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes, none <br />voted no. <br /> <br />Janulewicz requested the Board to take action to approve four new <br />keno satellite locations for operation of the keno lottery. The applicants <br /> <br />being - Raymond K Seaman, doing business as Shannon's Pub, 2802 Old Fair <br />Road, Grand Island <br /> <br />Ralph LaRosa, doing business as LaRosa's Flamingo Restaurant & <br />Louge, 3421 W State St., Grand Island <br /> <br />Bosselman, Inc., Bosselman's Travel Center, 1-80 & US Highway <br />281, Grand Island <br /> <br />Thomas D Bernard and Joanne I Bernard, doing business as <br />Generations, 2815 S Locust St., Grand Island <br /> <br />Mike Johnson, attorney for Fonner Park Keno, introduced Todd Otto with <br />Fonner Keno, Raymond K Seaman, Ralph LaRosa, Chuck Bosselman and Tom <br />Bernard. He stated the approval of these four locations does not <br />prohibit Fonner Keno from considering other applicants. Others could <br />express interest and they would be considered. ' <br />Hartman asked for clarification on who is authorized to <br />who isn't, as far as owners and-employees of satellite <br />of Fonner Keno, City Council and County Board and their <br />Janulewicz was asked to look into this matter. <br />Hartman made motion, seconded by Landis to apporve Resolution #1610 <br />regarding the approval of additional four keno satellite locations. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter andStelk <br />voted yes, none voted no. <br /> <br />play keno and <br />locations, officers <br />families etc. <br />
