<br />Long - Reported he had attended the jail tour, two Conditional Use Committee
<br />meetings, Audit Committee meeting, the County Board work study session
<br />Planning Commission meeting and also the NACO Convention in Omaha.

<br />Abernethy - Attended Family Violence Coalition meeting, NACO Convention in
<br />Omaha and attended the reception for Foster Parents.
<br />
<br />Leslie - Attended the NACO Convention in Omaha
<br />
<br />Stelk resumed chair for balance of meeting. She reported she had attended
<br />the work study session, Reception for Ellen Merrill and the Christmasrwalk
<br />at Stuhr Museum.

<br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
<br />
<br />Chair reported that starting in January Board of Corrections meeting will
<br />be held at the Training Center at Safety Center. Notice of December meeting
<br />had already been sent for publication.
<br />
<br />Quandt - County Board needs to send letter of request to State to have them
<br />look at Highway 281 and Airport Road where young girl was killed in auto
<br />accident. Also spoke in regard to the Airport Board Member not living in
<br />Hall County and what County Board could do about it.
<br />
<br />Landis reported have lost two members from the ReUse Committee, and Super-
<br />visor Leslie will be going off in January when term of office expires. The
<br />County Board has the authority to appoint the three people to serve on the
<br />ReUse Committee and as Chair she would like to meet every two weeks.
<br />Board members suggested a letter be sent to ReUse Committee Board and request
<br />names for nominations to the committee.
<br />
<br />Letter to Secretary of State in regard to the election complaint was pre-
<br />sented for Board Members signatures.
<br />
<br />County Clerk reported have received copy of Regional Planning Commission
<br />agenda for Wednesday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall Council
<br />Chambers. (2) Received copy of "Reorganizing Nebraska's Local Govern-
<br />ment Structure for file in her office, additional copies are available for
<br />$10:00 each. (3) Received copy of Rules and Regulations of the Tax Equali-
<br />zation and Review Commission as aRproved by the Attorney General, the Gov-
<br />ernor and Secretary of State, for file in office.
<br />
<br />Abernethy stated she would like to have an Election Committee meeting as
<br />soon as possible.
<br />
<br />Returned to the discussion on the Executive Secretary position and salary.
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to advertise for Executive Secretary
<br />in Grand Island Independent, Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal and list
<br />the salary as negotiable. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Hartman was absent. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Long suggested contacting agency about a temporary employee to be in the
<br />office until permanent replacement is hired. Board members discussed.
<br />Suggestions were from 9:00 to 12:00 each day.
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Long to hire a temporary employee for up
<br />to 19 hours a week. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk
<br />voted yes, none voted no, Hartman was absent. Motion carried.

<br />Supervisor Abernethy was excused from meeting at 2:48 p.m..

<br />Discussion that Long and Stelk to work on hiring temporary help.
<br />
<br />Letter of Nomination for Landis to NIRMA Board to fill the unexpired term
<br />of Robert Leslie was presented for signatures.
<br />
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Quandt to authorize Long and Stelk to select
<br />a temporary part time help for County Board office to begin as soon as
<br />possible. Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted
<br />no. Abernethy and Hartman were absent. Motion carried.
<br />
