<br />~C; to f- - 35'/ <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING, NOVEMBER 5, 1996 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session <br />and by published call, in County Board meeting room, 121 South pine, Grand <br />Island. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Tammie stelk. <br /> <br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Rev. Galen Lauhead, Open Bible Church. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The pledge of Allegiance was given in unison. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Margaret Landis, <br />Robert Leslie, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. <br />Absent was Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF OCTOBER 28, 29 & 31 MEETINGS: Motion by Long, seconded by <br />Abernethy to accept minutes of meetings as received. Abernethy, <br />Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and stelk voted yes, none voted no. Hartman <br />was absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Deputy Attorney Jerom Janulewicz and news media representatives Carol <br />Bryant, Grand Island Independent and Traci Overstreet, KRGI Radio were <br />present. <br /> <br />GENERAL ASSISTANCE RENT PAYMENT: Roger Gallagher, client, two ministers <br />from the Open Bible Church were present. Mr. Gallagher had presented a <br />written letter of his concerns. <br />Susan stuckert, Social service Office spoke in regard to the rental <br />payments. <br />Rev Glaen Lauhead, 939 S. pine, Grand Island spoke in regard to Mr. <br />Gallagher rent and eviction notice he has received. <br />Roger Gallagher, 104 W 5th spoke in regard to the questions asked. <br />Deputy Attorney Janulewicz spoke in regards to the General Assistance <br />Agreement,' Hall_ county has with the Department of social Services. <br />Discussed setting up a committee to look into how the rent payments <br />are paid. Mr. Lauhead offered to service on committee if one is appointed. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE "NATIONAL HOME CARE MONTH" The county Clerk. <br />read the following proclamation. United Stat.es is a growing alternative to hospitalization for <br />shor~-term and long-term Illnesses, with an estimated expenditure of $30 billion for <br />services to more than 7 million Americans; and <br /> <br />Whereas, thousands of hardworking men and women, in association with more tha <br />18,85,0 home care agencies, unite caring and modern technology by providing cos~ <br />~ffectlve home health care services that stimulate quicker and fuller recoveries and <br />Improvements than institl.:'tional care; and <br /> <br /> <br />Wh~ereas, these. dedicated home care professionals and volunteers form a network of <br />carrng support In ~u.r nation's ~ast health care system and are deserving of special <br />honor and appreciation for their many contributions; and ' <br /> <br />Whereas, the National. Association for Home Care, Tabitha Health Care Services, <br />Home Care & ~ompa~lons, NMC Home Care, Olsten Kimberly QualityCare, Option <br />Care, St. FranCIS Medical Center Home Health Services, Husker Home Health and <br />; more t~an 18,850 home care agencies have declared the month .of November; 996 <br />as Na~lonal. Home Car~ Month and are calling upon. all Americans to observe this <br />occasion with approprrate ceremonies and activities; <br />
