Mr. Blomstedt has a Masters Degree in Sanitary Engineering. He has <br />developed the designs for the construction oflagoons in the State of Nebraska. He is Nebraska's <br />#1 man in the design and construction oflagoons in the State of Nebraska. <br /> <br />:;L <br /> <br />I would recommend that the public should voice their concerns, etc. and then have the board <br />address these questions to these engineers at the close of the meeting. Each <br />person wishing to speak, would be given 5 minutes. <br /> <br />Those speaking were: <br />Dale Bockmann, 3858 W. Wood River Road. <br /> <br />Florence Wiese, 7551 S. 60th Road <br /> <br />Albert Moeller, 7582 S. Engleman Road <br /> <br />Gene Brady,Consulting Engineer on the project spoke in answer to questions <br />He showed exhibits with maps of the area. <br />Harold Christensen, Brady Engineering Co, did the study and explained <br />the details of the map. <br /> <br />Jim Musilek, Mid state Engineering & Testing spoke in regard to the <br />clay liner materials being used and the seepage rate. <br /> <br />Gene Brady spoke in regard to question on odors and referred to the <br />Bosselman System at 1-80 location at Elm Creek, Nebraska. <br /> <br />Oscar Blomstedt, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality spoke <br />in regard to designs for construction of lagoons in the state of Nebraska. <br /> <br />Supervisor Hartman questioned the type of system used in Gibbon and <br />also City of Grand Island, and the concern of seepage when groundwater <br />is high in the spring of year. <br /> <br />Dr. Lawrence Hake, 3493 W. Guenther Road spoke also with concerns. <br /> <br />Supervisor Abernethy commented she had visited with Milt Moravek, <br />Central Platte NRD and he will take look at the location. <br /> <br />Chuck Bosselman,President of Bosselman Companies spoke. He gave <br />background on the reason for construction and if City utilities are <br />extended to the interstate, they charge double rates for anyone out of <br />City limits. He stated Sarpy County has sewer districts. <br /> <br />Supervisor Quandt stated if city utilities are extended to interstate <br />will be a win - win situation for future growth at the interchange. <br /> <br />Supervisor Hartman requested the people in audience to talk to the <br />City Council members about extending city utilities to the area. <br /> <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie to close the Public Hearing. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted <br />yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Chair adjourned the meeting at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
