Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />Carried. <br /> <br />Discussion on the overlay projects that set date for bid opening for <br />today. <br /> <br />Recessed at 11:12 a.m. for short Public Works Committee meeting. <br />Returned to session at 11:20 a.m. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: Hartman, Chairman of Public Works <br />Committee stated the Committee recommends accepting the low bid of Wilke <br />Contracting! Corp, Kearney, Nebraska for $16,940.96 and authorize Chair <br />to sign the contract for box culvert project C40(258). <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Leslie to accept the Committee recom- <br />mendation to award bid to Wilke Contracting, Kearney $16,940.96 for the <br />box culvert project and authorize chair to sign contract when prepared. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMENCED AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS at 11:23 a.m. <br />Returned to regular session at 12:00 noon. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to pay monthly claims as <br />audited. Abernethy questioned Veterans Service Officer mileage claim <br />and she will visit with him about it. She felt part of it should be <br />charged to Howard County contract and not all paid from Hall County Veterans <br />Service Department travel expenses. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Supervisor Quandt requested the Committee for Safety Center that is working <br />with Committee from City of Grand Island in moving Police Department from <br />Safety Center. He asked them to request and consider leaving some employees <br />at the Safety Center location and also consider looking at locating some <br />police employees at a northside location due to railroad crossings. <br /> <br />Chair adjourned the meeting at 12:06 p.m. <br />October 1, 1996 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Next meeting will be Tuesday, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />.~ <br /> <br />Hall County Clerk <br />
