The Hall County Board of supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session <br />and by published call in County Board meeting room, Administration Building, <br />121 south pine, Grand Island. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Rev. Roger Nelson, First Presbyterian <br />Church. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Richard Hartman, Margaret Landis, <br />Robert Leslie, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. <br />Absent was Irene Abernethy. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: No representative from County Attorney's office was present. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF JULY 16th MEETING: Motion by Quandt, seconded by Long to accept <br />minutes as received. Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted <br />yes, none voted no, Abernethy was absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: NONE <br /> <br />Steve Irwin, 2612 S. Chanticleer, representative for Royal Neighbors of <br />America explained program they could offer County Employees. He requested <br />Board approval for payroll deduction. <br />Chair Stelk informed Mr. Irwin of the 5% rule adopted by the County <br />Board that he must have 5% of county employees to qualify for the payroll <br />deduction. <br />Motion by Long, seconded by Quandt to <br />survey county employees but limited to off <br />included with county employees paychecks. <br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, <br /> <br />authorize Royal Neighbors to <br />hours. Survey letter to be <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, <br />Abernethy absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-0046: Motion by Long, seconded by Leslie to adopt Resolution <br />#96-0046 as presented. Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />voted yes, none voted no, Abernethy absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N#9~-c10-f? <br /> <br />***************************** <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County Treasurer had brought to the attention of the <br />County Board of Supervisors of Hall County, Nebraska, that there are personal <br />property taxes which have been on her records for more than two years and remain <br />unpaid, and <br />WHEREAS, the County Board of Supervisors of Hall County, Nebrask~ is <br />satisfied that the County Treasurer has used due diligence to collect said taxes, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears that said taxes are owed by persons who have removed from <br />this County, or have passed away and left no property out of which taxes can be <br />paid, or for some cause it is impossible to collect such taxes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Board of Supervisors of Hall <br />County, Nebraska, in regular session, that Doris Mason, County Treasurer, be, and <br />the same hereby is, authorized and directed to strike from the tax list records <br />in her office all uncollectibLe personal property taxes which have been on her <br />records prior to July 1, 19~, which are 1993 uncollectible personal property <br />taxes. {, .
