<br />,9'~ F- 20~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Meeting was recessed at 12:00 noon. <br />Housing Authority. <br /> <br />Board members attended luncheon at <br /> <br />RETURNED TO REGULAR SESSION AT 1:40 P.M. <br /> <br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Long to hold Board of Equalization meeting. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br />Landis was absent. Motion carried <br /> <br />BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING 1:42 P.M. Returned to regular Board of <br />Supervisors meeting at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Discussion on #3, #4 and #5. Communication #6 in regard to insurance <br />proposed changes by Administration Building employees. Chairman Stelk <br />stated she had received 3 phone calls and she would like to set up a public <br />forum for employees and insurance representatives, meeting to be held in <br />the evening. <br />Supervisor Hartman requested the insurance consultant be removed from <br />next week's county board meeting agenda. <br />Supervisor Long stated his experience is the lack of communications <br />between people causes concerns. <br />Chairman Stelk requested permission from County Board. to set up meeting <br />for employees to attend with the insurance representatives and consultant <br />to bring communication to employees. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Long to authorize chair to set up a date <br />with insurance companies and employees for an evening meeting and to cancell <br />Consultant Hiller from next week's agenda. Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />voted yes, none voted no, Abernethy and Hartman abstained, Landis was absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion on communications #7, #8, #9 and #10. <br />Motion by Leslie, seconded by Abernethy to accept communication discussed <br />and also include letter received from Lloyd and patricia Mader in regard to <br />discharge of CHAAP water into the Silver Creek. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Landis was absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: written weekly progress report had been included <br />in packets. Ellen Merrill asked if Board of Equalization hearings are <br />to be on tape and video or just tape. <br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Leslie to tape meetings but not to <br />video the Board of Equalization hearing meetings. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, Landis, absent. <br />Motion carried. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to approve Ellen Merrill, County <br />Board Assistant to accompany Deputy Attorney Janulewicz to Lincoln on Friday <br />June 21, for the Public Defender Organization hearing before the Nebraska <br />Commission of Industrial Relations. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with Landis absent. Motion <br />carried. <br />Board Assistant reported the budget forms for 1996-1997 budget are <br />changed this year, will order tape from State Auditor's office to update <br />our forms. <br />Ellen Merrill, Board Assistant requested vacation day of Thursday, July <br />25 and one week of vacation from Monday July 29, through Friday August 2. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to authorize Board Assistant for <br />dates requested for vacation. Abernethy, Hartman, Leslie, Long, Quandt <br />and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with Landis absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBER REPORTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Quandt <br /> <br />none <br /> <br />Hartman - Reported on Mid Plains Center Executive Board Meeting and also that <br />he will attend the Mid Nebraska Individual Services meeting tomorrow <br />night. <br /> <br />Long <br />Abernethy <br /> <br />none <br /> <br />- Commented on Reuse Committee minutes for Supervisor Landis who <br />was absent today. She took her daughter to Lincoln. Abernethy <br />attended the interviews for people interested in positions for <br />Corrections Department. <br /> <br />Leslie <br /> <br />none <br /> <br />Stelk - reported on interviews for corrections deparment applicants,Had 35 <br />apply, only 15 carne back for tests and only 5 people passed the <br />tests. She attended the Convention & Visitor's Bureau meeting <br />and has copies of information for those interested in reading them. <br />
