<br />96r- ;({) 3 <br /> <br />w <br /> <br />Abernethy made a motion and Leslie seconded to set Board Assistant <br />Ellen Merrill's salary at $29,825.98. This is 3% plus a step <br />increase. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT ELLEN MERRILLTS REPORT: The letter to Brent Hiller <br />was in the packets. Merrill was instructed not to send the letter. <br /> <br />Landis stated that she received a reply from Nebraska Accountability <br />and Disclosure telling her there may be a conflict of interest on <br />the insurance issue. Landis stated she will abstain from voting on <br />this issue. Merrill was instructed to brief Mr. Long on the insurance <br />issue and this will be discussed again on June 25. <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the vacancies on several boards and Merrill <br />requested direction on using the names from the bank of volunteers. <br />Discussion was held. Quandt made a motion to take applications and <br />hold interviews for the 3 vacanies. Motion failed no second. The <br />board assistant is to advertise the vacanies,take applciations to <br />the various boards and have the boards make recommendations. This will <br />be discussed next week. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS: Quandt - He attended the Midland Area <br />Agency on Aging and the meeting on the dewatering at Cornhusker <br />Army Plant. Landis requested that a committee be set up to look into <br />alternatives. She stated that Merrick County has serious concerns <br />on this project. Landis, Leslie and Hartman are to meet with Merrick <br />County on this water clean-up project. <br /> <br />Landis - She stated that Tom Shay contacted Jerry Janulewicz on the <br />interviews to hire a consultant on July 22. The Office of Economic <br />Adjustment will pay to fly someone out for the interviews. Landis <br />will report to the board on the 2 people selected. <br /> <br />Hartman - No report. <br /> <br />Abernethy - The County Board is invited to eat lunch with the Housing <br />Authority Board June 18. <br /> <br />Leslie - No report. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: None <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: None <br /> <br />Stelk adjourned meeting at 1:10 P.M.
