<br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 A.M. from adjourned
<br />session and by published call, in the County Board Meeting Room,
<br />Administration Building, 121 South Pine, Grand Island.
<br />
<br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Tammie Stelk.
<br />
<br />INVOCATION: Reverend Stephen Warriner of the Abundant Life Christian
<br />
<br />Center.
<br />
<br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman,
<br />Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk.
<br />
<br />MINUTES OF JUNE 4 MEETING: Abernethy made a motion and Leslie
<br />seconded to approve the minutes and on general consent to accept and
<br />place on file the Hall County Treasu:er'~ Miscellaneous Receipts,
<br />the county office reports and communlcatlons except for #2. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none
<br />voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />COUNTY ATTORNEY:Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz was present.
<br />
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION DISCUSSION ON TAX FORCLOSURE CASES: 9:05 A.M.
<br />Landis made a motion and Leslie seconded to go into executive session
<br />on the tax forclosure cases. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />9:40 A.M. Leslie made a motion and Abernethy seconded to return to
<br />regular session. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk
<br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Hartman made a motion and Leslie seconded.. to authorize Deputy County
<br />Attorney Jerry Janulewicz to use his discretion but not to exceed the
<br />counties tax liens on the tax foreclosure.sale at 10:00 A.M. July 10.
<br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes
<br />and none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION F.O.P. NEGOTIATIONS: 9:45 A.M. Abernethy made a
<br />motion and Leslie seconded to go into executive sesion for the F.O.P.
<br />negotiations. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk
<br />all voted yes and none voted no Motion carried.
<br />
<br />10:20 A.M. Abernethy made a motion and Hartman seconded to return to
<br />regular session. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk
<br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />SELECTION COMMITTEE REPORT: Ellen Totzke, County Attorney, Marjorie
<br />Haubold, County Clerk, and Doris Mason, County Treasurer, announced
<br />their selection of a new board member. Harold T. Long was selected
<br />to fill the vacancy on the Hall County Board of Supervisors.
<br />
<br />10:25 A.M. Leslie made a motion and Abernethy seconded to go into a
<br />Board of Equalization meeting. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />10:55 A.M. Abernethy made a motion and Leslie seconded to return to
<br />regular session. Aberneth~ Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk
<br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />JIM PRAUNER MADISON COUNTY SUPERVISOR IN REGARD TO A JUVENILE
<br />DETENTION CENTER: Jim Prauner, District #3 Madison County Supervisor,
<br />spoke to the board on a new juvenile detention center. Madison
<br />County is building a new adult detention center and is considering
<br />building a juvenile center also. It would cost about $700,000.00
<br />a year to run a new facility. The daily charge would be $120.00 to
<br />$125.00 and there would not be a per capita charge. The juvenile
<br />facility would also include a staff secure faciltiy. Mr. Prauner
<br />wanted to know if Hall County would be interested in this venture.
<br />Landis made a motion and Hartman seconded to have the chair of the
<br />Juvenile Services Committee, James Fosket,meet with Sheriff Vern
<br />Hjorth from Madison County to start dialogue on the juvenile
<br />detention center. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
