Hall County has assisted veterans and their families thrvugh the Nebraska Veterans <br /> assistance program in an amount of$230,298.36 for fiscal year 2012-201�with two <br /> months still remaining, the end of each fiscal year is June 3Qt" of each year <br /> 7). Promotian in 5erving member hurial needs. <br /> a). Hall County Military Honor Guard participates in attending the funerals of veterans <br /> and presents the United States Flag to the immediate family member of the <br /> deceased Veteran <br /> b). Hall County Veterans Service Office completes each burial application form and <br /> submit5 to appropriate VA Office. <br /> c). Hall County Veterans Service Office assists the familie5 of the deceased veteran <br /> in applying for financial assistance for the cost of the burial when 5uch need exists <br /> d). Assists Veterans family with VA Burial Headstone applications <br /> e). Assists Veterans family with applica#ion for month of death benefits <br /> f). Assists surviving spouse with Death & Indemnity Compensation and PenSion claims <br /> g). Provide for each Veterans Gravesite with a Bronze Grave Marker and 18" U.S. Flag <br /> h). Educate the surviving dependents on eligibility for admission to the Grand Island <br /> Veterans Home <br /> i). Hall County has assisted the families of the deceased veteran in paying for the burial <br /> cost5 of those buried at the Grand 151and Veterans Home Cemetery in an amount <br /> Of$7,974.09 over the past 6 months <br /> Page 4 of 4 <br />
