Quandt, Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, Abernethy, <br />and Rosenkotter voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />OFFICE REPORTS--COUNTY COURT, ELECTION COMMISSIONER, COUNTY <br />CLERK: Rosenkotter moved and Abernethy seconded the motion to <br />approve the office reports and communications. Abernethy asked <br />that a letter to Regional Planning Commission Director Nelson <br />Helm be prepared regarding his impending retirement. Quandt <br />asked how a replacement will be selected. Stelk said she <br />discussed this last night with the Mayor and suggested a <br />committee made up of three council members, three county board <br />members, and three regional planning commission members to make a <br />recommendation to the city council, county board, and regional <br />planning commission. There was discussion of having a county <br />planner. Landis suggested a committee survey Adams, Buffalo, and <br />Dawson counties regarding what they do for planning. The issue <br />was discussed. Quandt, Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, <br />Abernethy, and Rosenkotter voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT: Merrill asked how to proceed regarding <br />the application process for keno funds. In response to a <br />question, Janulewicz said Generations has closed and Fonner Keno <br />is trying to find another keno operator in that area. Landis <br />said if the Kearney keno funds application is used as a model, <br />the eligibility for keno funds should be changed from city <br />departments to not-for-profit agencies. Merrill and Janulewicz <br />are to prepare a rough draft. Abernethy asked that this item be <br />
