<br />/~ <br /> <br />9~~Oh3 <br /> <br />Cedarview Roads. He said 49 of the 58 lots have been sold in the <br />Amick Acres East Subdivision. The issue was discussed. <br /> <br />Mylus Robinson of 233 South Hilltop Road in Doniphan said he <br />submitted a petition to Hartman for paving ~ mile on the west <br />side of White Sunny Slopes Subdivision. Hartman asked that this <br />matter be placed on the agenda for next week. <br /> <br />Jim Swanson of 2316 West Louise in Grand Island said he also owns <br />property in AIda. Swanson asked how many road projects will be <br />put on hold for the South Locust Street Project and how much will <br />this project cost. Hostler addressed the cost of the project by <br />saying that the 1992 estimate was $800,000 not including the <br />costs of the environmental impact study. Abernethy said the <br />County will probably spend $300,000 annually for three years on <br />this project. Stelk said the latest estimate given to her was <br />$830,000 but she expects the project to cost approximately <br />$1,000,000. The board discussed the use of keno funds and the <br />maintenance of Husker Highway. <br /> <br />Tom Adkins of 4323 South North Road in Grand Island said he is <br />the owner of J.I.L. Asphalt and spoke in support of using keno <br />money for road projects. He questioned the cost of the South <br />Locust Street Project. Adkins said if road projects are halted <br />for three years his firm could go out of business. <br /> <br />Hartman made a motion which didn't receive a second to pave 1~ <br />miles using keno funds and 1~ miles through the Road Budget. He <br />said the County will blacktop four miles of road this year, the <br />two miles of 1R Road and the two miles near Doniphan.. Hostler <br />said one mile of 1R Road and one-half mile of Stolley Park Road <br />are already in his budget. <br /> <br />Abernethy said 64% of the property tax money comes from Grand <br />Island residents. Hartman said the other 36% pay city sales tax <br />in Grand Island. Landis compared Hall County's Road Budget to <br />Buffalo County's 1993 Road Budget. <br /> <br />Robert Humiston Jr., of 1007 East Fourth Street in Grand Island <br />spoke in support of using keno money for road projects. He asked <br />about the costs of the South Locust Street Project. Rosenkotter <br />explained why she regretted voting last year to spend keno funds <br />on road projects. Leslie said some keno money should be held <br />back in case a lid is imposed. These issues were discussed <br />further. <br /> <br />Hartman made a motion which was seconded by Leslie to close the <br />public hearing. Quandt, Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, <br />Abernethy, Rosenkotter voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Hartman made a motion which was seconded by Landis to.only spend <br /> <br />$150,000 in keno funds on these road projects and add $150,000 to <br />the amount to be spent from the Road Budget for these projects. <br />Hartman said this will still allow all of the proposed road <br />proiects to be done.
