<br />I <br /> <br />H f~,F- ~tJ7 <br /> <br />. ~ <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING, FEBRUARY 13, 1996 <br />, <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met February 13 at 9:00 a.m. <br />from adjourned session and by published call in the County Board <br />Meeting Room, Administration Building, 121 South pine Street, <br />Grand Island, Nebraska. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Tammie <br />Stelk. <br /> <br />INVOCATION: The invocation was g~ven by Supervisor Irene <br />Abernethy. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present on Roll Call were Irene Abernethy, Richard <br />Hartman, Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Gary Quandt, Judy' <br />Rosenkotter, and Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 6 MEETING: The minutes of the February 6 <br />meeting were received. Abernethy asked that the reference to <br />Mid-Plains be changed to Mid-Nebraska in Hartman's comments <br />during Board Members' Reports. Rosenkotter made a motion which <br />was seconded by Abernethy to approve the minutes as corrected, <br />the office reports, and the communications on consent agenda. <br />Quandt, Landis, Hartman, Stelk, Leslie, Abernethy, and <br />Rosenkotter voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: Deputy County Attorney Jerom Janulewicz <br />distributed a copy of the statute and Board's scope of authority <br />regarding Sunday sales of liquor. He discussed Resolution #1005 <br />which was passed on September 23, 1987. <br /> <br />RON SCHIERLING--NEW ALDA LOUNGE: Schierling, 1217 West Fifth <br />Street in Grand Island, addressed the Board. He said he <br />represents R.O.S. Incorporated d.b.a. the New Aida Lounge. <br />Schierling distributed a letter from Linda Morse of Wing's <br />Restaurant and Lounge; a letter from Melvin Wichman of the <br />Interstate Holiday Inn; Resolution #1005; a copy of the minutes <br />from the Board's October 22, 1987, meeting; a copy of Section 53- <br />179 of the Nebraska Liquor Control Ac~; a list of the license <br />holders within Hall County's jurisdiction; a list of hours for <br />alcoholic beverage sales in other jurisdictions of Hall County; <br />and information regarding traffic counts. He said two license <br />holders were unable to be present today and submitted letters. <br />The letters from Morse and Wichman were read. Schierling said <br />the four license holders under the Board's jurisdiction want the <br />time alcoholic beverages can be sold on Sundays changed from 6 <br />p.m. to noon. He said this action was justifiable for fairness <br />of business. <br /> <br />Eulen Whitten, 3234 Schirnmer Drive in Grand Island, addressed the <br />
