<br />C/~~- (j 3 ~ <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JANUARY 30, 1996 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met January 30, at 9:00 A.M. <br />from adjourned session and by published call in the County Board <br />Meeting Room, Administration Building, 121 South Pine, Grand Island. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tammie Stelk. <br /> <br />The invocation was given by Reverend Tim Snyder, Third City <br />Christian Church. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernthy, Margaret Landis, Robert <br />Leslie, Gary Quandt, Judy Rosenkotter and Tammie Stelk. Richard <br />Hartman arrived at 9:20. <br /> <br />The minutesof the January 23 meeting were corrected. Leslie made a <br />motion and Rosenkotter seconded to accept and place on file. <br />Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz stated that he received a <br />request from New Holland for a continuation on the omitted and <br />undervalued property notices. They requested to set the date for <br />February 27. <br /> <br />9:10 Leslie made a motion and Abernethy seconded to go into a Board <br />of Equalization. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Hartman absent. <br /> <br />9:15 Quandt made a motion and Leslie seconded to go out of the Board <br />of Equalization. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />County Assessor Jan Pelland presented Tax Correction Notices #1127 to <br />#1185. Quandt made a motion and Rosenkotter seconded to authorize <br />the Chair to sign the notices. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, <br />Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Lauri Schultis with the Crisis Center presented her quarterly report <br />to the Board. The statistics in Hall County are down but the overall <br />totals are up. This is the first time in eight years it has not <br />increased by 40%. Ms. Schultis stated that the intervention resource~ <br />like Family Violence Coalitio~ are making an impact. <br /> <br />The agreement for office space with CASA, Court Appointed Special <br />Advocate Program was presented. Abernethy made a motion and <br />Rosenkotter seconded to authorize the Chair to sign the two <br />agreements. Landis stated that County Superintendent Larry Harnisch <br />will be presenting his quarterly report and would like to hear his <br />comments of the space. Mr. Harnisch was here last Thursday and spent <br />time reorganizing the vault. Quandt stated that he was against <br />giving away office space. Hartman questioned the utilities and the <br />janitorial services. Rosenkotter called for the question. Abernethy, <br />Leslie, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and Hartman, Landis and <br />Quandt voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />County Superintendent Larry Harnisch reported to the Board that he <br />had met with rural districts exploring the merging of two Class I <br />schools. Mr. Harnisch questioned if there is a Hall County <br />Reorganization Committee. Hartman stated that the committee had not <br />met for several years and he would assist Mr. Harnisch in setting this <br />up. Harnisch reported that the microfiliming of the old records in <br />the vault would also free up some space. Some of the old equipment <br />was sold at the county auction and the equipment that is checked out <br />by other school districts will be sold next year. Some of the <br />equipment will continue to be stored in the vault. Mr. Harnisch <br />stated that it was satisfactory with him to use the space for other <br />records. His office is in Wood River. <br /> <br />The contract with the County Board and the Wood River School District <br />for the county superintendent will come due in May. The contract <br />would be for $30,000.00 per year for a four year period. It should <br />include an escape clause pending possib~ legislation from the State. <br />
