<br />q~~- (P17 <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT ELLEN MERRILL- She presented letters to the board <br />members for signatures and requested RVSP on the following. The <br />Leadership Tomorrow lunch will be February 8, the same day as the <br />County Board Workship in Kearney. Abernethy stated she would not <br />be able to attend but Rosenkotter would be able to attend the <br />Leadership Tomorrow. The NIRMA workshop will be held February 7. <br />Ellen has GIS training that week and would not be able to attend. <br />Leslie, Abernethy, Stelk and Landis will attend. The Cairo <br />United Methodist Church will celebrate the consecration of their <br />new Church January 21 and the board was invited. The letter from <br />Ummel Sanitation will be researched and a reply sent later. <br />The telephone calls that were questioned will be turned over to <br />the County Sheriff. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS- <br /> <br />Quandt- He did not have a report. <br /> <br />Hartman- He spoke on LBl08 that was introduced. He attended a <br />meeting Monday evening and stated that this may be a dangerous <br />bill. This water bill will change the format of the ownership <br />of ground and surface water. The final committee hearing on this <br />will be January 17. <br /> <br />Rosenkotter - She did not have a report. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the Corrections Committee meeting and the <br />CNCA meeting. CNCA was looking for a lot for low income housing <br />but was unable to find a lot in Grand Island. The CNCA meeting <br />will be held January 16 at 5:00 P.M. She also attended the Reuse <br />Committee meeting on the foreign trade zone. <br /> <br />Abernethy - She attended the Corrections Committee meeting, the <br />Emergency Protective Custody meeting and the Juvenile and. Paternity <br />Cases Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Leslie - He attended the Stuhr Museum Board meeting and Sandi Yoder <br />gave her address on Stuhr Museum, a copy of this is in Ellen Merrill's <br />office. He also attended the Corrections Committee meeting. He stated <br />that it was a good decision to set up this committee and there is <br />starting to be some communication. <br /> <br />Stelk - She attended the Convention and Visitors Bureau and had a copy <br />of the valuations on the conventions held in 1995. The lodging tax <br />collActed for 1995 is nearing the $200,000.00 mark. Tuesday at 5:00 <br />Ken ~nadt, Dale Iman, Ellen Merrill and Tammie Stelk will meet to <br />set the date, time and place for the joint City County meeting. She <br />will report on this next week. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS - <br /> <br />Judy Rosenkotter stated that because she is a CASA volunteer she <br />requested an opinion from the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure <br />Commission if this would be a conflict of interest. Their reply <br />stated that she would not have a potential conflict of interest. <br />The letter was placed on file. <br /> <br />Ellen Totzke, County Attorney, provided the board members with a <br />list of the duties of the deputy county attorneys.
