~ 91;: S>i't Lancaster - She attended the salary work study, computer meeting, CVB committee meeting, safety committee meeting and will attend the long range planning meeting. She stated that she feels the board committees save and are a good value. She will also attend the Midland Area Agency on Aging-meeting. Long - He attended the salary work study meetings and the 4H awards presentation. NEW AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Abernethy asked if it would be possible to sent a certificate of recognition to honor a student on his athletic accomplishment. It was stated that academic accomplishments should be recognized also. The parks report will be place on the agenda for November 24. A letter will be sent to the Karles concerning the Monfort problem. DISCUSSION ON SALARY SURVEY: Landis made a motion and Hartman seconded not to tape or video the salary discussion. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Hartman stated that at the Mid-Plains meeting several of the counties there give a flat dollar amount instead of percentage raises. All of the elected officials are given the same amount. Discussion was held on a percentage or flat dollar amount. Copies of the board members work sheets were handed out. Long stated that he would like to see the elected officials at the NACO recommended amount at the end of 4 years. Discussion was held on the duties of the offices and what the job is really worth. The officials work 37 1/2 hours and have health and dental insurance. The board members will work on the figures and discuss this agaln on Monday the 24th. Meeting adjourned.
