<br />~;~~ <br /> <br />APPROVE FINAL PLAT FOR ARROWHEAD RIDGE SUBDIVISION: This is <br />a request to remove one acre from an ag parcel for a residence. <br />Stelk made a motion and Landis seconded to approve the final <br />plat for Arrowhead Ridge Subdivision. Abernethy, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted <br />no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. Hartman arrived at <br />1:45 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE SAFETY POLICY CONCERNING FANS AND HEATERS: The safety <br />committee drew up this policy after the OSHA inspection. Landis <br />made a motion and Stelk seconded to approve the safety policy. <br />Abernethy stated that some of the employees in social services <br />were concerned if they would be able to keep the fans that they <br />need in their building. This would only eliminate the fans <br />with metal blades and the heaters are required to plugged into <br />direct outlets or heavy duty cords. This letter will be <br />distributed to all department heads. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORK DIRECTORS RECOMMENDATION ON PETITION TO VACATE ROAD: <br />Daniel Hostler, Public Works Director, submitted his <br />recommendation on the petition to vacate a portion of 60th Road. <br />Hartman made a motion and Abernethy seconded to approve to vacate <br />a portion of 60th Road. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />DISCUSSON ON LETTER CONTACTING OTHER COUNTIES: This letter will <br />be a survey sent to 12 surrounding counties asking if they would <br />be interested in a regional jail. Landis made a motion and Stelk <br />seconded to send the letter. It will be signed by all the board <br />members. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING PERSONNEL: Stelk made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to hold executive session regarding personnel. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />1 :57 p.m. Executive session. <br /> <br />1:06 p.m. Stelk made a <br />of executive session. <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />carried. <br /> <br />motion and Landis seconded to go out <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, <br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> <br />BOARD SECRETARY'S REPORT: Lisa Hagen included her progress report <br />in the packets and will have the letter to department heads <br />on the safety policy for the board~ signatures. The registration <br />forms for the NACO convention in October will need to be turned <br />in. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:Stelk - She attended the Health Board <br />meeting, the conditional use permit committee meeting, the budget <br />meetings, the CVB meeting and she will have a copy of the <br />minutes. There will be a Heartland Vision meeting at 5:30 today. <br /> <br />Quandt - He attended the budget meetings. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the budget meetings, and the conditional use <br />meeting on Wednesday and is well satisfied with what was <br />accomplished and there will be another meeting. The committee <br />will bring a recommendation to the board concerning this matter. <br /> <br />Hartman - He attended the conditional use committee meeting and <br />said they made good progress and will report back to the board. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the budget meetings and a prison <br />committee meeting. <br />
