<br />9?;' ~t/c7 <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to add the resolution <br />for the fact finding and education advisory board for the prison <br />and the approval of the claim for Mid-American for additional <br />funds to the agenda as an emergency item. Abernethy, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, <br />with Hartman absent. Motion carried. Discussion was held on <br />adding names of individuals from the rural areas to the prison <br />fact finding advisory board. Attorney John Brownell was present. <br />Members of the board felt it was important to have people from <br />the rural areas on the board. Mr. Brownell stressed the fact <br />that the advisory board needs to be in place because of the <br />limited amount of time to prepare the proposal. Additional names <br />will be submitted and this will be completed next week. Landis <br />made a motion and Lancaster seconded to accept the charge for the <br />members of the fact finding and education committee for the <br />prison advisory board. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with Hartman <br />absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />EMERGENCY ITEM MID AMERICA CLAIM: Stelk made a motion and <br />Abernethy seconded to approve the claim for Mid-America for <br />additional funds in the amount of $50,000.00. Abernethy, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD SECRETARY REPORT: Lisa Hagen, board secretary, <br />requested what line item she was to use to pay the claims from <br />McDermott Miller for the budget assistance. She was told to use <br />miscellaneous general line item 9900. A new line item will need <br />to be added for the new budget. Lisa included her progress <br />report in the board members packets. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: Quandt - He attended the board of <br />equalization meetings and he reported that the new vending <br />contract has deposited $2,000.00 in commissions. <br /> <br />Stelk - She attended the health board meeting, the tower meeting <br />and a short CVE meeting. There will be a meeting with the new <br />Health Department Director, Brad Fegley and Chuck Haase then a <br />joint meeting on the Health Department budget will be held. She <br />also attended the board of equalization meetings. <br /> <br />Abernethy - She reported that the Heartland Vision is hoping to <br />have a town-hall meeting. She attended a meeting in Lincoln on <br />government restructuring they will be hiring one person to work <br />on this. She also attended a juvenile justice committee meeting. <br /> <br />Landis - She attended the NRD meeting and Senior Citizens meeting <br />and they still have some concerns with the cab ticket program. <br />They are allowed to sell 1000 tickets each month and had already <br />sold 658 by July 9. She also stated that the audit committee has <br />serious concerns on the cash reserves and hopes that they will <br />have some recommendations by July 22. <br />
