9?;' ~t/c7 Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to add the resolution for the fact finding and education advisory board for the prison and the approval of the claim for Mid-American for additional funds to the agenda as an emergency item. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. Discussion was held on adding names of individuals from the rural areas to the prison fact finding advisory board. Attorney John Brownell was present. Members of the board felt it was important to have people from the rural areas on the board. Mr. Brownell stressed the fact that the advisory board needs to be in place because of the limited amount of time to prepare the proposal. Additional names will be submitted and this will be completed next week. Landis made a motion and Lancaster seconded to accept the charge for the members of the fact finding and education committee for the prison advisory board. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. EMERGENCY ITEM MID AMERICA CLAIM: Stelk made a motion and Abernethy seconded to approve the claim for Mid-America for additional funds in the amount of $50,000.00. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with Hartman absent. Motion carried. COUNTY BOARD SECRETARY REPORT: Lisa Hagen, board secretary, requested what line item she was to use to pay the claims from McDermott Miller for the budget assistance. She was told to use miscellaneous general line item 9900. A new line item will need to be added for the new budget. Lisa included her progress report in the board members packets. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: Quandt - He attended the board of equalization meetings and he reported that the new vending contract has deposited $2,000.00 in commissions. Stelk - She attended the health board meeting, the tower meeting and a short CVE meeting. There will be a meeting with the new Health Department Director, Brad Fegley and Chuck Haase then a joint meeting on the Health Department budget will be held. She also attended the board of equalization meetings. Abernethy - She reported that the Heartland Vision is hoping to have a town-hall meeting. She attended a meeting in Lincoln on government restructuring they will be hiring one person to work on this. She also attended a juvenile justice committee meeting. Landis - She attended the NRD meeting and Senior Citizens meeting and they still have some concerns with the cab ticket program. They are allowed to sell 1000 tickets each month and had already sold 658 by July 9. She also stated that the audit committee has serious concerns on the cash reserves and hopes that they will have some recommendations by July 22.
