<br />flf' /5'5 <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />Lancaster - She contacted Jerry Ryan concerning the Midland Area <br />Agency on Aging meeting since she could not attend because of the <br />retirement coffee for Marjorie Haubold. She mentioned the up coming <br />prayer breakfast on May 1 and that Senator Hagel will be here May 3. <br /> <br />Long - He spoke at the Sertoma luncheon, the executive session held <br />April 24, the retirement party and the museum board meeting. He will <br />attend the county government day in Lincoln to accept the check from <br />NIRMA. <br /> <br />Hartman - No report. <br /> <br />COUNTY ASSESSOR TAX CORRECTION NOTICES: Quand made a motion and Stelk <br />seconded to authorize the chair to initial tax correction notices <br />number 1575 to 1605. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT OF SHERIFF POSITION: The board has until May 30 to fill <br />the positi9n. Discussion was held. Quandt made a motion and Hartman <br />seconded to advertise for the sheriff position and take applciations <br />until May 15. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and Long voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />CHARLOTTE WESSELS REGARDING NOISE ORDINANCE IN COUNTY SUBDIVISIONS: <br />Charlotte Wessels, 2240 South Engleman Road, AIda, spoke to the board <br />regarding barking dogs in the Stahla Trailer Court. Ms. Wessels <br />questioned if it would be possible to have some kind of ordinance <br />regarding this problem. Jerry Janulewicz will check on this. Deputy <br />David Waskoviak stated that the sheriff's department patrols this <br />area and they. have the authority to investigate. <br /> <br />Jerry Janulewicz returned to. the meeting and addressed questions <br />concerning the executive session. He stated that if the board does <br />not have a formal written complaint and is not involved in litigation <br />an executive session would not be necessary. Discussion was held. <br />No action can be taken without a written complaint. <br /> <br />NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Abernethy requested that the board <br />members return the survey on reports from departments. <br /> <br />A problem in Meadow Lane sub-division concerning children at play <br />and the speed limits was discussed. This wa~ referred to Dan Hostle~ <br /> <br />Pulbic Works Director and the Public Works Committee. They will <br />meet and make a recommendation. <br /> <br />Quandt addressed a problem on the response time to fire <br />East Capital Avenue. He will report back on this. <br /> <br /> <br />ADJOURNED: Meeting adjourned <br /> <br />REMINDER: The County Board meetings may be viewed each w~ek on GITV <br />Cable channel 6 and UFT Channel 56 on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and <br />Friday at 8:00 a.m. <br />
