<br />91F /51- <br /> <br />, , <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Chairman Long called for public <br />participation and no one appeared. <br /> <br />JAMIE WATCH REGARDING 1995 TAX REFUND: Jamie Watch and Jerry <br />Cahow-Watch presented the board with information regarding the <br />request for a refund on the 1995 real estate taxes. The board <br />had previously denied the claim and they were notified of the <br />action. Janulewicz stated the recommendation stands the claim <br />did not meet statuatory requirements. Discussion wa~ held. <br />Hartman made a motion and Abernethy seconded to approve the <br />refund. Abernethy and Hartman voted yes and Lancaster. Landis, <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk voted no. Motion failed. <br /> <br />10:40 a.m. BID OPENING FOR 1997 LOADER FOR ROAD DEPARTMENT: Hartman <br />made a motion and Stelk seconded to open bids on the 1997 loader. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Quand and Stelk all voted yes <br />and none voted no. The committee will meet next week. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION ON AGREEMENT WITH FORMER SHERIFF: Hartman made <br />a motion and Lancaster seconded to hold executive session regarding <br />an agreement with the former sheriff. The news media representatives <br />objected to the executive session. The vote was delayed until the <br />Deputy County Attorney could be contacted. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS: <br /> <br />Quandt - No meetings. He removed the vending committee report <br />removed from the agenda because this has been taken care of. <br /> <br />Stelk - She attended an interview committee meeting for the health <br />director, the Lakeview advisory board meeting, the public hearings <br />held April 29, the computer meeting and she reminded the board <br />members of the joint work study session with the city May 5. <br /> <br />Landis - She will attend the public hearings to be held April 29 <br />be an audit committee meeting April 29 at 1:30. <br /> <br />Abernethy - She attended the Crane Meadows open house and the College <br />ParkiBoard meeting. <br />
