<br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISOR MEETING, APRIL 8, 1997
<br />
<br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session
<br />and by published call in County Board meeting room, 121 S Pine, Grand Island.
<br />
<br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Huey Long.
<br />
<br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Rev. George Wheat, Chaplain Veterans
<br />Affairs Medical Center, Grand Island.
<br />
<br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unison.
<br />
<br />ROLL CALL:
<br />
<br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman,
<br />Pamela Lancaster, Margaret Landis, Huey Long, Gary Quandt
<br />and Tammie Stelk. None were absent.
<br />
<br />PRESENT were County Attorney Ellen Totzke, New media representatives from
<br />Grand Island Independent, KHOL-TV 10/11, KHAS-TV 5, and KRGI Radio.
<br />
<br />MINUTES OF APRIL 1ST MEETING: Motion by Quandt, seconded by Stelk to
<br />accept minutes of April 1st meeting as received. Abernethy, Hartman,
<br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.

<br />COUNTY ATTORNEY:
<br />
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Motion by Stelk, seconded by Lanaster to hold Executive
<br />Session in regard to personnel. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION at 9:07 A.M. with County Attorney Totzke and Correction
<br />Director Dalton present. Motion by Quandt, seconded by Hartman to return
<br />to regular Board of supervisor meeting. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster,
<br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />RETURNED TO BOARD OF SUPERVISOR MEETING AT 9:23 A.M.
<br />
<br />GUIDELINES FOR DEALING WITH OUTSIDE AGENCIES: County Attorney Totzke spoke
<br />in regard to request for guidelines. She had prepared proposed guidelines
<br />for Board Members to consider.
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Abernethy to adopt the proposed rules for
<br />dealing with outside agencies as prepared by County Attorney. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />Motion carried.

<br />RESOLUTION #97-0027 PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SENIOR CITIZENS INDUSTRIES HANDIBUS
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Hartman to adopt Resolution #97-0027 Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />Motion carried.

<br />COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

<br />WHEREAS ,
<br />
<br />There are federal funds available under Section 5311 of the Federal
<br />Transit Act, as amended, and for Nebraska Public Transportation Act
<br />Funds, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS ,
<br />
<br />Senior Citizens Industries, Inc.. a private, non-profit organization,
<br />desires to apply for said funds to be used to provide public
<br />transportation in HALL County with special emphasis on meeting the
<br />needs of the elderly and disabled persons.
<br />
<br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Hall County Board of Supervisors has
<br />reviewed the application of Senior Citizens Industries, Inc. for
<br />said funds and does hereby certify that Senior Citizens Industries,
<br />Inc. is considered to be capable of providing public transportation
<br />for persons of Hall County.
