<br />Motion by Lancaster, seconded by Quandt to rescind motion made this morning
<br />to appoint Drudik to be in charge of paunch. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster,
<br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Quandt, to turn any permits or correspondence
<br />to Max Boersen,. County Building Inspector, in regard to liquid sludge and
<br />grit manure. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long and Quandt voted
<br />yes, Stelk voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Stelk to have Attorney change resolution on
<br />paunch to remove Health Department from the Resolution. Abernethy, Hartman,
<br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.

<br />George Zahn thanked the board members for their support and cooperation on
<br />working with Monfort to reach a solution.
<br />
<br />BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:
<br />Stelk Needed to report a correction to statements from last week's
<br />meeting. The Health Department meeting is on personnel rules and
<br />applications for new Director. The Presentation on Commmunity
<br />Health Center is April 9th at 5:00 p.m. at st Francis Medical Center.
<br />
<br />NEW AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
<br />
<br />Landis spoke in regard to the press release received from Representative
<br />Bill Barrett in regard to project awarded for work at Cornhusker Army
<br />Ammunition plant in Grand Island. A Contract was awarded to Pocal Indust-
<br />ries Inc of Pennsylvania to manufacture full range practice cartridges at
<br />the plant location for $43,710,563.93 contract, with completion date to be
<br />October 17, 1999.
<br />Landis also reported Tom Shay will be in Grand Island on April 10, 1997 in
<br />regard to hiring a consultant for the CAAP project.
<br />
<br />RETIREMENT - County Clerk Marjorie Haubold submitted her retirement as
<br />Hall County Clerk for April 30, 1997. She has worked in County Clerk's
<br />office for 31 years, 18 years as County Clerk. (Written letter of
<br />Retirement is on file) She recommended appointment of Marla Conley, Deputy
<br />County Clerk to fill the unexpired term till January 1999.
<br />Board Members made comments of appreciation in regard to Clerk's
<br />services. Acceptance of retirement will be placed on agenda for next
<br />week's board meeting.

<br />3:07 P.M. COMMENCED AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS.
<br />Supervisor Hartman left meeting at 3:10 p.m.
<br />Supervisor Stelk left meeting at 3:15 p.m.
<br />Sheriff Fosket was called to meeting in regard to large claim submitted for
<br />Sheriff fees. He explained and Deputy Attorney Janulewicz was called for
<br />opinion on the 90 day time limit. Attorney contacted auditors for answer.
<br />Had not returned with answer yet at 4:10 PM.

<br />Board Meeting returned to regular session at 4:10 p.m.
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Abernethy to approve and authorize payment
<br />of claims as audited, except to hold Sheriff fee claim #97030164 for
<br />clarification at next week's meeting. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long
<br />and Quandt voted yes, none voted no. Hartman andStelk were absent. Motion
<br />carried.
