<br />DISCUSSION ON RULES FOR COUNTY BOARD AND WORK SESSION MEETINGS. Chairman
<br />Long stated he had met with Attorney Janulewicz, 2 representatives from
<br />Grand Island Independent on Monday morning and discussed. Chairman had
<br />requested Board Secretary to survey Douglas, Lancaster and Sarpy Counties
<br />to check on their policies for information.
<br />Supervisor Stelk asked News reporters, if City and School packets are
<br />available. Carol Bryant, Grand Island Independent and Tracy Overstreet
<br />KRGI Radio reporters answered question.
<br />Supervisor Stelk suggested an amendment to County Board Policy in
<br />regard to media packets and read list of news media who received agendas
<br />on Friday.
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Abernethy, packet for news media listed
<br />on Friday, by 4:00 p.m. in Clerk's office at no charge. Discussion followed
<br />Abernethy suggested time be changed to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Following more
<br />discussion and comments, Stelk made new wording to motion.
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Abernethy one packet be ready in Clerk's
<br />Office for news media before 5: 00 p. m. on Fridays, they can make copies at
<br />no charge on Clerk's copy machine. Abernethy, Lancaster, Landis, Long,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Hartman abstained. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />
<br />Stelk requested the motion become part of the Board Policy Guidelines.

<br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - NONE
<br />
<br />Supervisor Hartman spoke in regard to Grand Island Independent report on
<br />his accident in parking lot last Tuesday. He gave his report of the story.
<br />Supervisor Stelk asked if on County property, should it be reported to
<br />County Sheriff or City Police.
<br />
<br />AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS: Delayed audit of claims until afternoon.
<br />
<br />REPORT ON BOX ELDER BRIDGE: Dan Hostler, Public Works Director stated the
<br />information was not available today. Put on next week's agenda and should
<br />have information by then.
<br />
<br />LETTER - FLASHING TRAFFIC LIGHT AT HUSKER HIGHWAY AND HIGHWAY 11.
<br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director reported on the proposed letter to State
<br />Department of Roads in regard to the traffic light.
<br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Quandt to approve and sign the letter to
<br />Nebraska Department of Roads in regard to flashing traffic light at Husker
<br />Highway and Highway 11. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />COUNTY TREASURER'S' MISCELLANEOUS RECEIPTS: Motion by Landis, seconded by
<br />Stelk to accept and place on file the County Treasurer's miscellaneous
<br />receipts. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk
<br />voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.
