HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISOR MEETING, FEBRUARY 25, 1997 The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from adjourned session and by published call, in County Board meeting room, 121 S. Pine,Grand Island. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Huey Long. INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Pastor Schutte, Grace Lutheran Church Grand Island PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unison. ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, Pamela Lancaster, Margaret Landis, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. None were absent. PRESENT were Deputy Attorney Jerom Janulewicz and News Media reporter Carol Bryant from Grand Island Independent. MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 18th MEETING: Motion by Hartman, seconded by Landis to accept minutes of February 18th meeting as received. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. COUNTY ATTORNEY: EXECUTIVE SESSION: Motion by Lancaster, seconded by Quandt to hold Execu- tive Session in regard to Public Defender Organization negotiations. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION at 9:05 A.M. with Deputy Attorney Janulewicz present. Motion by Stelk, seconded by Quandt to return to regular session of Board of Supervisor meeting. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. RETURNED TO REGULAR SESSION AT 10:24 A.M. Chairman called short break. Returned to session at 10:30 a.m. Present was KRGI Radio reporter Tracy Overstreet. RESOLUTION - HOME OCCUPATIONS: Supervisor Landis, Chair of Conditional Use Committee stated the resolution was not ready today. Put on next week's agenda. RESOLUTION #97-0016 Motion by Stelk, seconded by Landis to adopt Resolution #97-0016 to appoint Ed Saeger, County Safety Officer. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion . carried . RESOLUTION # Cj'? - (JO / ~ A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A COUNTY SAFETY COMMITTEE AND POLICIES RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS, Hall County acknowledges its responsibility to take action as necessary to insure the safety and well being of its employees; and WHEREAS, through the establishment of a Safety Committee, the County is committing itself to the development of those policies and procedures which will provide the necessary framework to meet these goals. NOW, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hall County Board of Supervisors as follows: 1. That Ed Saeger shall replace the County Board Assistant as the designated County Safety Officer. 2.
