Motion carried. <br /> <br />12:20 p.m. Recessed for lunch <br /> <br />1:43 p.m. Returned to regular session <br /> <br />The audit committee meet concerning the two salary proposals that <br />were received from Capital City Concepts Lincoln, Nebraska and <br />BBC of Denver, Colorado. The bid from BBC did not have a cost <br />and the bid from Capital City Concepts quoted a cost of <br />$12,000.00 and $18,000.00. Long made a motion and Lancaster <br />seconded to authorize Jerry Janulewicz to negotiate a contract <br />and return on December 8 with the contract for the board's <br />approval. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />UPDATE FROM SHERIFF PERKINS: Sheriff Perkins presented the board <br />with information on his remaining budget. He has recently <br />purchased two new hand held radios and there are 2 radar units on <br />order from the highway safety grant. He introduced Jessica <br />Hoback a new deputy that is finishing her training at the law <br />enforcement training center. They are working on an active <br />campaign on the seatbelt and child restraint issues. He provided <br />information on the great grant funds in the amount of $11,530.00 <br />and they have been reimbursed for $8,655.62 of that amount. They <br />are continuing the procedure to eliminate as much court over-time <br />as possible. He stated they have purchased a laptop with grant <br />money and will need approval from the computer consultant for the <br />projector. They chief deputy position has not been filled and <br />he is working with the new sheriff on hiring any new deputies. <br />The board members stated they felt the department was in good <br />shape. <br /> <br />TAX CORRECTION NOTICES: County Assessor Jan Pelland presented the <br />tax correction notices. Stelk made a motion and Quandt seconded <br />to authorize the chair to initial tax correction notices 1960 to <br />1975. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS: Quandt - He attended Midland Area Agency <br />on Aging, the ADA meeting and he missed a safety meeting. <br /> <br />Long - He attended CNCS in Loup City and a recognition for Mr. <br />Wolbach in Omaha. <br /> <br />Stelk - She attended an ADA meeting, the conditional use meeting <br />a computer committee meeting and the computer meeting that was <br />scheduled for December 1 will be held at another time. She also <br />attended two union negotiation meetings. <br />
