<br />g<6F~~qlo <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING NOVEMBER 24, 1998 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned session <br />and by published call in the county board meeting room, 121 South <br />Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska, November 24, 1998, at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Rev. Roger Nelson. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Richard Hartman, Pamela <br />Lancaster, Margaret Landis, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie <br />Stelk. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz <br />and news media representatives from the Grand Island Independent <br />and KRGI. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 10 MEETING: Quandt made a motion and <br />Stelk seconded to approve the minutes of the November 10 meeting. <br />Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />CHUCK BOSSELMAN - REQUEST TO PAVE A PORTION OF WEST WOOD RIVER <br />ROAD: Public Works Director Dan Hostler stated that Chuck <br />Bosselman requested assistance from Hall County to pave a portion <br />of Wood River Road. They will receive $100,000.00 for this <br />project from safety funds. Lancaster made a motion and Quandt <br />seconded to refer this matter to the public works committee so <br />they can research the matter and come back with a recommendation. <br />This matter will be tabled until Mr. Bosselman arrives for <br />further discussion. <br /> <br />DISCUSS REQUEST FOR PAVEMENT OF CAMPBELL AVENUE: John Amick, 210 <br />Amick Avenue, stated he has a petition signed by the property <br />owners requesting that Campbell Avenue be paved. The estimated <br />amount of the project would be about $30,000.00 Janulewicz <br />stated he talked to a bonding attorney and it would cost about <br />$5,000.00 to set up a paving district. The property owners are <br />not requesting the county to do the paving, they just want to <br />proceed with the project. John Amick suggested that a rural road <br />improvement fund could be established. Long made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to refer this matter to the public works <br />committee and Jerry Janulewicz. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Stelk made a motion and Long seconded to go <br />into executive session regarding the discussion on the settlement <br />negotiations strategy regarding the workers compensation claim of <br />So to and take action, executive session to discuss litigation <br />strategy on the 1999 property tax valuations and executive <br />
