<br />q~\= ~OoS7 <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING OCTOBER 27, 1998 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned session <br />and by published call in the county board meeting room, 121 South <br />Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska, October 27, 1998, at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Rev. Vernon Werner. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, <br />Pamela Lancaster, Margaret Landis, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and <br />Tammie Stelk. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jerry <br />Janulewicz and news media representatives from the Grand Island <br />Independent and KRGI. <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 13 MEETING: Quandt made motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to approve the minutes of the October 13 <br />meeting and place on file. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />CONSIDER AND ADOPT RESOLUTION FIXING PAY FOR CLERICAL EMPLOYEES <br />OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER: From the settlement agreement with the <br />public defender's office it was requested that the county board <br />consider fixing the salaries for the clerical positions. Deputy <br />County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz recommended that the board <br />approve this resolution. The resolution reflects the cost of <br />living increases and the merit increases. Quandt made a motiona <br />nd Lancaster seconded to approve resolution #98-0065 to set the <br />clerical salaries. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-00 {"S <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PAY FOR CLERICAL <br />STAFF OF THE HALL COUNTY PUBLIC DEFENDERS OFFICE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Neb. Rev. Stat. ~ 23-3403 provides that the county board shall fix the compensation <br />of all employees of the office of the public defender; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at the request of the Hall County Public Defender; the Hall County Board of <br />Supervisors finds that the compensation of the following employees should be fixed. <br /> <br />NOW BE IT RESOLVED, the wages for the following employees of the Hall County Public <br />Defender for the fiscal year 1998-1999 are hereby fixed as follows: <br /> <br />Kaylene Weller, Office Manager, <br /> <br />$1606.67 monthly <br /> <br />Marlena Thomas, Secretary I, <br /> <br />$8.66 per hour effective July 1, 1998 <br />$9.08 per hour effective October 16, 1998 <br />
