<br />q ~ F___Dol\ '7 <br /> <br />REVIEW, CONSIDER AND APPROVE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR SALARY <br />SURVEY: Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz presented <br />information to the board concerning the salary survey. Lancaster <br />made a motion and Stelk seconded to set the bid opening for the <br />salary survey for November 24, 1998, at 10:00 a.m. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN THE KENO GRANT AGREEMENTS: Abernethy <br />made a motion and Quandt seconded to authorize the chair to sign <br />the keno grant applications. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSIDER AND ADOPT RESOLUTION ESTABLISHED SICK/VACATION FUND: <br />This resolution was requested by the audit committee at budget <br />time. Long made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve <br />resolution #98-0062 established the Hall county sick/vacation <br />leave liability fund. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98- 0 ()~~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE <br />HALL COUNTY SICKN ACA TION LEAVE LIABILITY FUND <br /> <br />WHEREAS, prior to fiscal year 1998-1999, Hall County did not budget funds for <br />payment of the above-described paid leave liabilities; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hall County Personnel Rules and Procedures Handbook and various <br />labor agreements for offices and departments of the County require the County pay employees for <br />accrued and unused vacation pay when the employee's employment with the County ceases and, a <br />portion of accrued and unused sick leave pay when an employee retires; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the creation of such a fund for the payment of the above-described liabilities <br />would assist the county and its officers in maintaining stability in budgeting for county employee's <br />or county official's salary costs by reducing or eliminating budgetary fluctuations caused by the <br />retirement or cessation of employment of an employee or official and the payment of accrued <br />:ication and sick leave that is due upon such events. <br /> <br />NOW BE IT RESOLVED, <br /> <br />1. The Hall County Sick/Vacation Leave Liability Fund, hereinafter referred to as the "Fund," is <br />hereby created. <br /> <br />2. The Fund shall be credited an initial contribution of$15.00 per county employee which <br />amount shall be debited against the funds available for the respective office or department <br />employing any such employee. Additional amounts may be credited to said fund as may be <br />subsequently approved or required. <br />
