<br />tfg r ~ B(J5" <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING SEPTEMBER 8, 1998 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned session <br />and by published call in the county board meeting room, 121 South <br />Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska, September 8, 1998, at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Rev. George Wheat from the VA Medical <br />Center. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, <br />Pamela Lancaster, Margaret Landis, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and <br />Tammie Stelk. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jerry <br />Janulewicz and news media representatives from the Grand Island <br />Independent and KRGI. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 28 MEETING: Long made a motion and Quandt <br />seconded to approve the minutes of the August 28 meeting. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY - Stelk made a motion and Quandt seconded to go <br />into executive session regarding the following: <br />1. discussion of negotiation strategy regarding settlement <br />agreement and collective bargaining agreement with Hall County <br />public defenders <br />2. executive session to discuss negotiation strategy for UPCW <br />(corrections department) <br />3. executive session to consider and authorize bid - Firstier <br />Bank V. H. Lane discussion of strategy. <br />4. executive session regarding personnel <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9:08 a.m. executive session <br /> <br />10:00 a.m. Lancaster made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go <br />out of executive session. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster Landis, <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION OF GIFT TO HALL COUNTY PARK: Charles Kaufman stated <br />that he received a gift of $10,000.00 from the 110 Antonsen <br />estate. Wilbur McCumber stated that Mrs. Antonsen loved the out- <br />doors. She also presented gifts to several other organizations <br />in Hall County. Mr. Kaufman thanked Mr. and Mrs. McCumber for <br />the gift and stated that this will be used for a lasting memorial <br />to Mrs. Antonsen. The thank you letter was read and Quandt made <br />a motion and Lancaster seconded to adopt the thank you letter. <br />
