<br />tflF CJ,.t 1'1 <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING AUGUST 25, 1998 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned session <br />and by published call in the county board meeting room, 121 South <br />Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska, August 25, 1998, at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by pastor Robert Stretch with the Berean <br />Bible Church. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard Hartman, <br />Pamela Lancaster, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie Stelk. <br />Margaret Landis was absent. Also present were Deputy County <br />Attorney Jerry Janulewicz and news media representatives from the <br />Grand Island Independent and KRGI. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 11 MEETING: Quandt made a motion and Stelk <br />seconded to approve the minutes of the August 11 meeting. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS LITIGATION & NEGOTIATION STRATEGY <br />REGARDING HALL COUNTY PUBLIC DEFENDERS ORGANIZATION: Lancaster <br />made a motion and Long seconded to go into executive session. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9:10 a.m. executive session <br /> <br />9:40 a.m. Abernethy <br />executive session. <br />and Stelk all voted <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />made a motion and Long seconded to go out of <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt <br />yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. <br /> <br />Long made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve Resolution # <br />98-0044 approving the terms and conditions of a labor agreement <br />and settlement agreement with the Hall County assistant public <br />defenders and the Hall County public defenders organization and <br />authorize the Chair to sign the settlement agreement and the <br />general release. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Landis was absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98- Of) L./1 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TENTATIVELY APPROVING THE TEAAIS AND CONDITIONS OF <br />A LABOR AGREEl.\'IENT AND SETTLEl.\'IENT AGREEl.\'lENT WITH THE HALL <br />COUNTY ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDERS AND THE HALL COUNTY PUBLIC <br />DEFENDERS ORGANIZA nON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, litigation currently exists between the Hall County Public Defenders <br />Organization and the County of Hall; and <br />
