<br />9$1" e1/95 <br /> <br />APPROVE RESOLUTION WITH THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND FOR DEVELOPMENT <br />CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A PUBLIC FIREARM SPORTS FACILITY: <br />This request would take over the administration building area for <br />the development of a public firearm shooting area and future <br />development of additional recreational areas. Deputy County <br />Attorney Jerry Janulewicz recommended to approve this resolution. <br />Landis stated that she has received calls concerning the houses <br />and would like to see these houses put up for public auction. <br />She requested to table this until the next meeting to clarify how <br />the houses could be handled. Lancaster made a motion and Stelk <br />seconded to table this resolution until June 23. Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no, with Abernethy absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />HUSKER HARVEST DAYS SITE: Mel Fuller with the Ag Institute of <br />Nebraska and Mark Randall with Farm Progress Shows stated that <br />Husker Harvest Days has national and international recognition <br />and they want to maintain stability. They originally requested <br />930 acres but they will start with a lesser number of acres. <br />Stelk made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve Resolution 98- <br />0031 l~signating Agricultural Institute of Nebraska, Inc., and <br />Farm Progress Co., Inc., as Transferee of Designated Tracts From <br />the Department of Defense. Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with Abernethy <br />absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-()63/ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Law 103-337, sec. 2836 authorizes the Secretary of the Amy <br />to convey to the Hall County Nebraska Board of Supervisors or its designee all right, title <br />and interest of the United States in and to the real property that is the site of the <br />Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant, hereinafter referred to as "CAAP," for fair market <br />value, said property to be used in a manner consistent with the CAAP Reuse Committee's <br />Comprehensive Reuse Plan, hereinafter referred to as the "Reuse Plan"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska, Inc., and Farm Progress Co., <br />Inc., sponsors, organizes, produces and hosts the Husker Harvest Days, an annual fann <br />show, at a site located in the southwestern corner of the CAAP; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Husker Harvest Days is an important regional event for dissemination <br />of agribusiness information to area and regional farmers, ranchers, and agricultural <br />businesses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Farm Progress Co., Inc., desires to be designated by the Hall County <br />Board of Supervisors as transferee of the Husker Harvest Days site so that it may acquire <br />said property and assure continuation of the Husker Harvest Days farm show; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska, Inc., by unanimous vote of its <br />voting members, supports the acquisition of the Husker Harvest Days site by Farm <br />Progress Co., Inc. <br /> <br />~ <br />
