<br />tf ff;::: t!J;;l CJ / <br /> <br />state wide award and Kathryn Lynch, Grand Island, received the <br />outstanding senior citizens award. Kathryn has a long list of <br />volunteer services. Jake's Bake Shop of Grand Island received an <br />award for their outstanding contributions to senior services. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Hummel/owners of Jake's Bake Shop/received the award <br />for their generous contributions of baked goods to the senior <br />center. <br /> <br />The Midland Area Agency on Aging budget will be the same amount <br />as last year. Jerry Ryan stated that they will ~ose some of the <br />USDA support on food services and this will mean passing the <br />additional cost on to the senior citizens or eliminating other <br />items in the budget. Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded <br />to approve the budget of Midland Area Agency on Aging. Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no, with Abernethy absent. Motion carried. Long thanked <br />the handi-bus people for taking care of a problem on a disabled <br />citizen. <br /> <br />LEE JOHNSON MIDAMERICA BENEFITS INFORMATION ON PPO PLANS: Lee <br />Johnson with MID-AMERICA, the county's health insurance carrie~ <br />stated that Hall County had selected Midlands Choice for the PPO <br />provider but because St. Francis Hospital is not a member of the <br />Midlands Choice networ~he was asked to study the possibility of <br />changing providers. He stated that by changing networks there <br />may be a savings of $10,000.00. Most of the physicians on the <br />Midwest Select network are the same as Midlands Choice network. <br />This will be discussed in September at the contract renewal time. <br />Lancaster made a motion to look at this in September. Discussion <br />was held and Lancaster withdrew her motion. <br /> <br />APPROVE RESOLUTION APPOINTING REFEREES AND APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH <br />GREAT PLAINS APPRAISAL COMPANY FOR REFEREE SERVICES FOR THE 1998 <br />TAX PROTESTS: This is a contract is the same as the past years. <br />Long made a motion and Stelk seconded to approve Resolution #98- <br />0033 and sign the agreement with Great Plains Appraisal Company. <br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long and Stelk all voted yes and <br />Quandt voted no, with Abernethy absent.
