<br />t:jg /i}/ ~ IJ <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING APRIL 28, 1998 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned <br />session and by published call April 14, 1998, at 9:00 a.m. <br />in the County Board meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand <br />Island, Nebraska. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman <br />Richard Hartman. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, <br />Richard Hartman, Margaret Landis, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and <br />Tammie Stelk and Pamela Lancaster was absent. Also present <br />were Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz and news media <br />representatives from KRGI and the Grand Island Independent. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE APRIL 14 MEETING: Quandt made a motion and <br />Landis seconded to approve the minutes of the April 14 <br />meeting. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no; with Lancaster absent. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION ANNOUNCING NEBRASKA TOURISM WEEK: Renee <br />Siefert, director of the Convention Visitors Bureau, and <br />Tricia Beem announced that national tourism week will be <br />observed. As a token of appreciation to the County Board, <br />she presented them with coffee mugs with the new logo that <br />was designed by a local artist, Ron Lukesh. Stelk made a <br />motion and Quandt seconded to celebrate national tourism <br />week. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no, with Lancaster absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz <br />stated he had visited with County Assessor Jan Pelland <br />concerning the notice on the show-cause hearings before the <br />Tax Equalization and Review Commission. She had also <br />received notice and has prepared the necessary papers to <br />support her values. <br /> <br />ELECTION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION ON COPIER: Stelk stated <br />that when the election committee had met, Election <br />Commissioner Mary Kay Donohoo informed them that her photo <br />copier was down and the necessary repairs would be over <br />$700.00. She requested authorization to purchase a new <br />copier for $1,999.95. This copier has a 3-year warranty and <br />would be sufficient for her office. She stated that there <br />was additional money left from the computer software line <br />item in miscellaneous general to cover the copier. Stelk <br />made a motion and Landis seconded to approve the purchase of <br />a copier for $1,999.95 and pay for it from miscellaneous <br />general line item 5-0900. Lancaster arrived at 9:20 a.m. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
