<br />CJ1J: ~cJ5'1 <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE DEPUTY COUNTY ATTORNEY JERRY JANULEWICZ TO ATTEND LABOR <br />NEGOTIATIONS SEMINAR: This seminar will be held in the first week <br />in April in Phoenix, Arizona. Janulewicz estimated the cost <br />would be around $1,700.00. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster <br />seconded to authorize Jerry Janulewicz to attend the seminar. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no, with Landis and Long absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Chairman Hartman called for public <br />participation but no one responded. <br /> <br />APPROVE JERRY JANULEWICZ TO WRITE SPECIFICATIONS FOR BIDS TO HIRE <br />CONSULTANT FOR THE FACILITIES PLANNING COMMITTEE: Stelk stated <br />that the facilities planning committee would like to proceed with <br />writing specifications for the bids for a consultant. If the <br />bids are received and they are considered to hig~ the committee <br />would not recommend to approve the bids. She had requested the <br />board members to submit a list of the priority buildings for <br />consideration. Quandt expressed concern that there is already an <br />ADA study being done on the Courthouse and suggested waiting <br />until it is done. Lancaster supported the request for <br />specifications and wants to move ahead. The City would pay for <br />half of the cost of the consultant if he was hired. Stelk made a <br />motion and Abernethy seconded to have Jerry Janulewicz write the <br />specifications for a consultant for the facilities planning <br />committee and come back to the County Board for approval. <br />Margaret Landis arrived at the meeting at 9:50 a.m. Discussion <br />was held. Abernethy, Lancaster and Stelk all voted yes, Hartman, <br />Landis and Quandt voted no, with Long absent. Motion failed. <br />Lancaster made a motion and Landis seconded to Have Jerry <br />Janulewicz write specifications for a consultant for the County <br />side. Hartman, Lancaster and Landis voted yes and Abernethy, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted no, with Long absent. Motion failed. <br />Lancaster stated she only wanted to move forward. <br /> <br />10:06 a.m. Break <br /> <br />10:15 Returned to session <br /> <br />DAN HOSTLER - REQUEST TO PURCHASE GIS COMPUTERS: The purchase of <br />t~e computer was i~cluded in the 1997-1998 budget. The computers <br />wlll allow the Reglster of Deeds office to enter current <br />information to the GIS system. The price of the computers has <br />dropped so they are requesting to purchase four computers instead <br />of three, with a total cost of $31,006.00 for the computers and <br />$22,400.00 for the software. Stelk made a motion and Abernethy <br />seconded to approve the purchase of the computers for the <br />Register of Deeds office for $31,006.00. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lanca~ter, Landis, Quandt ~nd Stelk all voted yes and none voted <br />no, wlth Long absent. Motlon carried. <br />
