<br />9 ~r t'cJv 1 <br /> <br />10:40 a.m. Stelk made a motion <br />Board of Equalization meeting. <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes <br />absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />and Long seconded to go into a <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Long, <br />and none voted no, with Lancaster <br /> <br />11:00 a.m. Returned to regular session. <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz was <br />present. The audit committee met and recommended to approve this <br />resolution to transfer funds from the County Assessor to the <br />County Treasurer's office because of a change of duties. Stelk <br />made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve Resolution # 980001 <br />to Transfer Funds. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Long, Quandt and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no, with Lancaster absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98- 000 { <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS FOR <br />THE HALL COUNTY TREASURER'S OFFICE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the passage ofLB 271, Laws 1997, which transferred duties of the county <br />assessor to the county treasurer regarding assessment of fees due upon registration of motor vehicles, there <br />are additional expenses to be incurred in the operation of the Hall County Treasurer's Office which <br />expenses could not have been reasonably anticipated at the time the County budget for the current year was <br />adopted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds for operation of the County Treasurer's Office are included in the County <br />budget as part of the County General Fund; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because of the transfer of duties, the Hall County Assessor will reduce her staff by <br />two employees, thus resulting in an anticipated surplus offunds appropriated for the use of the Assessor's <br />office which funds should be transferred and used to pay for additional employees required by the county <br />treasurer. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the County General Fund - Miscellaneous item (assessor's <br />department) line 605-1-0305 be reduced in the amount of$17,457.60, the General Fund item (treasurer's <br />department) line 603-1-305 be increased in the amount of $17,457.60, the County General Fund- <br />Miscellaneous item (assessor's department) line 605-1-0500 be reduced in the amount of$120.00, and the <br />General Fund item (treasurer's department) line 603-1-0500 be increased in the amount of $120.00, said <br />action being taken in order to permit the payment of additional and unforeseen expenses to be incurred in <br />the operation of the Hall County Treasurer's Office for the fiscal year 1997-1998.
