PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Chairman Jeffries called for public participation and no one responded. DISCUSS HAVING A JOINT CITY/COUNTY WORK STUDY SESSION: Arnold requested that the county board hold a joint work study session with the city counsel to discuss the new technology that will affect them. Arnold made a motion and Stelk seconded to set a work-study session for January 18,2000, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. DISCUSS AND APPROVE RESOLUTION ESTABLISH HUMAN RELA nONS COMMITTEE: This will establish an eleven member committee to serve a one year term to study and make recommendations to the county board on human relations concerns and issues. They also requested that $2,000.00 be allocated for expenses. Logan made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve Resolution #99-0094 to establish the Hall County Human Relations Committee. Mr. Rodney Moore is assisting the committee with this process. The only expenses involved would be for mileage. Minutes of the meetings will be maintained. Hartman questioned if a resolution was really necessary, but this will provide some structure to the committee. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. RESOLUTION #99- 0 () q 4: A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE HALL COUNTY HUMAN RELATIONS COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the Hall County Board of Supervisors desires to ensure the County of Hall fulfills is responsibilities under state and federal laws with respect to ~qual employment opportunity and non- discrimination in the provision of governmental services; and WHEREAS, the Hall County Board of Supervisors desires to formulate policies on human relations concerns and issues including diversity and multiculturalism that are reflective of the public's concerns and goals; and WHEREAS, it is desired that a committee be formed to study and make recommendations to the County Board of Supervisors on human relations concerns and issues. NOW BE IT RESOL YED as follows: 1) The Hall County Human Relations Committee, hereinafter referred to as the "Committee," is hereby established. The mission and purpose of the committee shall be to make recommendations to the County Board on human relations concerns and issues including, but not limited to, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, diversity, and multiculturalism.
