F 19990491

remodeling, with a total of$3,000.00. Arnold made a motion and Logan seconded to
allow an additional $3,000.00 be allocated to CASA from Keno funds for the rent
expense and remodeling for her office space. Lancaster expressed her concerns on
remodeling buildings that the county does not own and the county does not owe office
space to the CAS A program even though CAS A may save Hall County money with the
services they offer. Landis expressed her concerns on renting office space. Stelk stated
that she does not want negative publicity that Hall County does not support CASA but
the county does not owe space to CASA and when another outside entity has requested
funds for rent it was denied. If the county pays rent for one program this may set
precedence for future requests. She suggested that there might be temporary space in the
law library at the courthouse. Landis suggested looking at the old Platte Administration
Building. The vote on the motion to allow additional keno funds for CASA was taken.
Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and Hartman, Landis and Stelk voted
no. Motion carried.

BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT: Stacey Ruzicka included her progress report in the
packets. She reminded the board that the personnel committee, building and grounds
committee and county government day committee are to meet after the board meeting.
She reminded them ofa meeting in Kearney with the Department of Roads and
information from Central Platte NRD informed the board of a public hearing regarding
acquisition of real estate and requested that a board member attend.

BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS: Arnold - He attend a Head Start meeting to address
the strategies to correct the problems from the review. He also attended the CASA board
meeting and the computer committee meeting.

Landis - Her meetings were already reported on

Lancaster - Her meetings were already reported on.

Stelk - She attended the library board meeting, the computer committee meeting and the
extension board meeting. She reported that at the health board meeting they only
interviewed on candidate for the new health department director and they decided to
advertise for applicants again with a November 20, 1999 deadline. She encouraged
people to apply.

Hartman - He reported that the interviews for the regional planning director will be held
on November 10. He stated that Public Works Director Dan Hostler informed him that
they have an opportunity to purchase a used grade-all. This item was in the budget but
was taken out and Mr. Hostler would like authorization to advertise for bids for a grade-
all. The public works committee will meet and come back with a recommendation on the
purchase.

Logan - He was gone and stated it was nice to be back.
